Chapter 7
When Bailey heard we were getting divorced, her pained expression instantly vanished, replaced by a look of triumph.
Just moments ago she’d been wailing dramatically on the floor, but now she was remarkably spirited.
Knox abruptly pushed Bailey’s hand away and walked toward me, his face registering complete disbelief.
“Vega, you can’t divorce me!”
“Why not?”
I raised an eyebrow.
“You’re holding another woman in your arms, protecting her, and now you’re telling me I can’t divorce you?”
“I told you, Bailey and I are just colleagues–nothing more!” Knox protested.
“Knox, I don’t care what your relationship with Bailey is.”
“I only know that you chose her over me.”
“That being the case, there’s no reason for us to continue.”
I looked directly at him, emphasizing each word.
“Knox, remember when we first got married, I made it very clear.”
“I absolutely hate when people touch what’s mine.”
“And you have repeatedly crossed that line.”
“How many chances have I given you? And how many have you appreciated?”
“When things get dirty, I throw them away. The same applies to people.”
I looked straight into his eyes.
“Knox, I don’t want you anymore.”
Knox’s face instantly drained of all color.
I picked up the divorce agreement and handed it to him.
“The assets are divided according to our prenup. It’s completely fair to you.”
Knox refused to take it.
“Vega, I’m not signing this! You’re just acting out of anger!”
At that moment, my father stood up.
“Mr. Blackstone, if you agree to an amicable divorce, we can still discuss future business cooperation.”

“Otherwise, all deals are off the table.”
Blackstone Holdings was already on its last legs. If our cooperation truly collapsed, the losses would be immeasurable
Mr. Blackstone pondered for a moment before glaring fiercely at Knox.
“Sign it!”
Under pressure from both sets of parents, Knox finally signed. Knox and I were officially divorced.
Bailey stood to the side, unable to hide the triumph in her eyes.
I met her gaze and smiled slightly.
“Congratulations, Bailey. Your social climbing has been successful.”
This comment caused Knox’s parents to explode on the spot.
“You shameless hussy!” Mrs. Blackstone grabbed Bailey by the hair, her voice reaching a hysterical pitch.
“This is all your fault!!”
Among the chaos, I calmly called for the butler.
“Please show our guests out.”
Just then, our housekeeper walked in with a bowl of medicine.
“Miss, I’ve brought your folic acid tablets. And as your private OB–GYN requested, I’ve prepared cod fish soup for lunch–it’s good for the baby.”
Everyone from the Blackstone family froze.
“Vega, you’re… you’re pregnant?” Knox’s voice was barely recognizable, hoarse with shock.
I took the tablets from the housekeeper and finished them before looking at Knox.
“Last month, the day you slapped me at the hospital, I was going to share this good news with you.” I said calmly.
“But you wouldn’t even let me speak a single word.”
Knox’s lips trembled, unable to form words.
“From that day on, you permanently lost the chance to be this child’s father.”
Upon hearing this, my father’s expression changed drastically.
“What? He dared to hit you?!”
He took three quick strides to reach Knox and delivered a punch straight to his face.
Knox stumbled backward but didn’t fight back.
“You animal! You dared to hit my daughter?! While she was pregnant?!”
My father roared.

Knox’s lip was bleeding, but he just stared at me, his eyes filled with agony and regret.
“Vega…”
He murmured my name, his voice pleading.
“Please give me one more chance, just one more…”
“One more chance?”
I laughed coldly.
“Haven’t I given you plenty already?”
Knox immediately broke down, falling to his knees.
“Butler, please show our guests out.”
The butler unceremoniously escorted the Blackstone family toward the door.
Mr. Blackstone pulled up his mentally collapsed son, while Mrs. Blackstone dragged Bailey by the hair, pushing her toward the
exit.
