“Honestly, from the moment we broke up six years ago, I stopped feeling anything for him! I haven’t loved him in a long time! I never will again!”
As soon as Rosalie finished speaking, she noticed a strange and fearful look on Tanya’s face.
“Thomas…” Tanya whispered softly, glancing behind Rosalie.
Immediately, Rosalie heard a dull buzzing in her mind. Following Tanya’s gaze, she turned around.
Thomas was standing there, his expression cold and rigid, exuding an oppressive aura that made her feel as if winter had descended.
His face was unreadable, and Rosalie couldn’t figure out what he was thinking. She couldn’t help but feel a sudden unease.
She knew Thomas had heard everything she just said.
Whether it was her denial of their past or her dismissal of any future together.
But it was better this way, wasn’t it?
There was never any real possibility of a future between them anyway!
Thomas walked toward her, hands in his white coat pockets, his movements deliberate and steady.
With each step he took closer, her heart seemed to skip a beat.
For a fleeting moment, she felt as if she had traveled back to six years ago, with him closing in on her in a way that felt almost aggressive.
But it was just an illusion.
He passed right by her without stopping for even a second. As he walked steadily toward Tanya behind her, he didn’t spare a glance in her direction.
Involuntarily, she turned to watch them.
“What do you want me to do?” The cold wind blew in through the window, and Rosalie heard him ask Tanya in a gentle tone.

Before Tanya could even react, he lowered his head and kissed her deeply on the lips.
The kiss was intense. It was as if he was trying to imprint Tanya into his bones and blood.
Tanya felt a mix of surprise and shock, but more than anything, she was overwhelmed by the
attention.
This man had never shown her such affection before.
With him, she had always been met with coldness and warmth alternately, so she could never understand what he truly felt for her.
Even their supposed engagement had been nothing more than the arrangement of their families. Up until this moment, Thomas had never shown even a hint of affection for her.
Tanya eagerly stood on tiptoe, wrapping her arms around his neck and responding to his kiss passionately.
She was lost in the passion of the kiss, unable to pull away.
The cold wind of late autumn was especially harsh.
It blew in from the end of the corridor, rustling through the air and slicing across Rosalie’s face and body, causing sharp, stinging pain.
As she witnessed the scene before her, she clearly heard the sound of her heart shattering into pieces.
She could also feel her eyes growing misty with tears.
The next moment, she turned and hurried away, her steps uncoordinated and disordered.
The moment Rosalie left, Thomas released Tanya from his arms.
“When did you find out?”
His tone remained as gentle as ever, devoid of any trace of anger or emotion.
“Wh–What?”
Tanya avoided his gaze, guilt written all over her face.
“About my past with her.”

“I found out a long time ago. I accidentally saw a picture of you and her on your computer,” Tanya whispered.
Thomas remained silent for a moment before saying, “Let’s go. We have things to do.”
His unusually calm demeanor left Tanya taken aback.
He didn’t even question her about why she had snooped through his computer, nor did he ask why she had lied to Rosalie about them being engaged.
Tanya had thought he would be angry, but he wasn’t.
She realized she didn’t understand this man at all–not in the slightest.
And yet, the more mysterious and unfathomable he became, the more hopelessly she fell for him.
