On the day Thomas asked for her WhatsApp account, Rosalie found herself almost unable to resist checking her WhatsApp whenever she had a free moment.
But there were no new messages waiting for her.
He hadn’t even added her on WhatsApp.
It made sense, though. He was so busy, when would he have time to check WhatsApp?
“Rosa, what are you up to? I’ve seen you looking at your WhatsApp non–stop today, which is not like you at all! Come on, admit it–are you waiting for someone to message you?”
After finishing her rounds and wrapping up her shift, Rosalie finally took a moment to sit and rest. That’s when Regina leaned in, wearing a mischievous grin.
“Don’t be silly! I’m not waiting for any message!”
Rosalie, caught off guard, blushed and quickly shoved Regina’s head away, hastily putting her phone out of sight.
“Don’t try to deny it! You’re blushing just by me mentioning it! Wow! Dr. Hawthorne, are you waiting for a message from George? Has he returned from Vienna? Mr. … Mr. Lange?”
Regina had been speaking eagerly, but as soon as she noticed the tall figure entering through the door, she instantly quieted down.
“Got nothing to do? Not planning to leave yet? Why not stay and take the night shift as well?” Thomas said, addressing Rosalie.
“No, Mr. Lange, we’re leaving right now!”
Rosalie barely had time to tidy up her desk. She grabbed her backpack from the table and quickly prepared to leave.
“From now on, if you use your phone during work hours, you’ll be punished with copying the surgical records ten times!”
His tone was firm, leaving no room for dispute.

“Okay!”
She couldn’t bring herself to argue and quickly pulled Regina out of the office, rushing to get
away.
It was Wednesday morning, and Thomas was about to start his clinic hours.
He had just finished seeing one patient and hadn’t even called in the next when his phone on the desk began ringing.
The call was from his company’s assistant, Raymond Chase.
“Boss, there’s a stack of documents here that need your signature. Should I bring them over for you to review?”
Thomas checked the time on his wristwatch. There was just about an hour left until the end of his shift.
“Bring them to the hospital,” he instructed.
“Understood,” Raymond replied.
Thirty minutes later, Raymond showed up at the Fulton Hospital, where his boss was stationed, carrying a thick stack of documents.
When he got there, Thomas was still seeing a few patients and told Raymond to wait outside.
To Raymond’s surprise, it wasn’t Thomas who appeared first–it was Rosalie.
When Rosalie spotted Raymond, she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. But after taking a closer look, it was him!
It was the same assistant, Raymond, who had returned to the country to assist with her marriage registration!
“Mr. Chase? Is that you?!”
Rosalie was completely taken aback.

His mind raced, scrambling for a way to smooth over Thomas’s elaborate deception.
“What brings you here?”
Rosalie questioned Raymond with curiosity, her eyes unconsciously scanning the area, searching for anyone who might have accompanied him.
Perhaps her mysterious husband, whom she had yet to meet!
“I … I … ” Raymond stammered, unsure how to respond.
