Chapter 1
After being toyed with by the three Norster brothers for three consecutive days, Raclynn Margrett showed up at the Norster’s residence, battered and worn down.
“Sir Norster, Madam Norster, I’ve decided. For the marriage arrangement, I chose Joshua Norster.”
Maria Norster was taken aback and exclaimed, “Raelynn, are you sure about that? Joshua is the uncle of those three boys!”
Raelynn had her doubts, but she truly had no other choice.
She gripped the edge of her outfit tightly, managed a weak smile, and gathered the courage to say, “Madam Norster, the marriage between the Norster and Margrett families isn’t necessarily confined to Adam, Benjamin, and Charlie, just because they’re from the same generation, right?
“None of them have any feelings for me, and I don’t want to push it any further. Madam Norster, could you please help me ask Joshua whether he would be willing to proceed with the marriage?”
Her eyes were full of a desperate plea as she spoke.
Maria observed her expression and sighed deeply.
After sharing a look with Henry Norster, she said, “Joshua is away on a business trip overseas. We’ll need to call him to ask. Don’t worry, dear.”
Raelynn felt anxious, her heart pounding as the phone rang.
“Mother?”
As soon as the call connected, Joshua’s calm yet distant voice was heard.
Maria quickly laid out the situation, and then there was a brief silence from the other side.
In those few seconds of waiting, Raelynn was overwhelmed with countless anxieties, and her mind went blank. She could hardly hear what was being said on the other end of the line.
After some time, Maria smiled softly and nodded.
“Joshua has agreed to the marriage. So, we should arrange the wedding date promptly and have the ceremony soon.”
Raelynn was taken aback, but soon delight filled her expression. She nodded eagerly.
Even as she made her way back, her heart was still racing.
It felt like a heavy weight had been removed from her chest, bringing her a profound sense of relief.

Chapter 1
After taking a few deep breaths to steady herself, she called her parents.
“Dad, Mom, the person I’m supposed to marry in the arranged marriage has been changed to Joshua Norster.”
Raelynn’s parents, Howard Margrett and Sally Claire, were initially taken aback when they answered the call, but they quickly composed themselves. Their voices were icy as they said, “It’s good to change it. Joshua holds a powerful po- sition, with more influence than those three from the Norster family. Just inform us of the date once the wedding is scheduled, and we’ll attend on the day.”
The call ended with two beeps, leaving Raelynn enveloped in the coldness of her home.
Her parents had never truly cared for her, always putting the company’s needs first. They were constantly away on business trips, and she had grown accustomed to their businesslike manner.
The Norster and Margrett families had been close allies for generations and were two of the most influential families in New York. Their ancestors had orchestrated a marriage alliance to strengthen their bond.
Raelynn, being the only daughter of her generation in the Margrett family, found herself with no option but to agree to this union.
She was raised alongside the three Norster brothers-Adam Norster, Benjamin Norster, and Charlie Norster. From a young age, her parents had informed her that she would eventually wed one of them.
She made every effort to get close to them, be nice to them, and do whatever she could to win their favor.
She even endangered her own life to rescue them during the massive earthquake that struck five years ago, ending up with injuries and almost sacrificing her life.
Still, they stayed indifferent because their affections were tied to Alice Mallon, the maid’s daughter from the Norster family.
Because of this, none of them were willing to marry her, and they were even more resentful of the marriage contract that linked them to her.
The irony was that they claimed to like Alice for rescuing them during the earthquake.
When in fact, it was she who had actually saved them!
