“Adam, Benjamin, Charlie, did you just mistake someone else for me? You were calling my name, right?”
Alice walked in by herself, set down three thermos flasks of different colors and styles, and muttered to herself.
“This is the chicken soup I made with my own hands. How painful must it be for the three of you to have suffered such serious injuries?”
She tried to reach out and touch the wounds on their bodies as she spoke.
Adam instinctively tried to dodge, but he couldn’t move because of the injuries on his body. He just coldly refused:
“Don’t touch me, I’m fine. They need you to take care of them. Go check on them.”
Alice hesitated for a moment, with a forced smile on her face, then turned around to look at the other two people.
“No, I don’t need it either.”
“I’m fine, you sit down and don’t move around.”
Benjamin and Charlie nodded in succession.

“How come you suddenly became so cold towards me? Did I do something wrong?”
In Alice’s watery deer eyes, tears quickly accumulated and rolled down in big drops as she sobbed.
“Is it about the engagement, right? But, it’s not my fault. I know I’m just a servant’s daughter, not worthy of your sta- tus, and I never expected to be with you.”
“All along, I just wanted to stay by your side, to always take care of you, but… but the engagement was arranged by Madam Norster, I couldn’t resist. Can you please try to like me?”
Seeing her humble and cautious appearance, Adam, Benjamin, and Charlie were not moved as they had been before.
Instead, there was only a kind of irritability that couldn’t be expressed.
After realizing that they actually liked Raelynn, they never thought about marrying Alice.

“Apart from the engagement, you can have anything you want, after all, you are our lifesaver.”
Charlie obviously meant the same thing.
“Alice, I never thought about marrying you. If you want to marry someone else, we will help you figure it out. No matter who it is, we will fight for you. It’s just that person won’t be me.”
Upon hearing this, Alice felt her heart sink infinitely.
She never dreamed that, after working so hard for so long, she would only receive a few useless promises like this.
All the things they had said to Raelynn in the past, they were now saying to her all over again.
Alice felt sour and unwilling in her heart, unable to hold back the dissatisfaction in her tone, “You guys say you like Raelynn, but she’s already married, right?”
