Chapter 5
The moment the trio departed, Alice, who had appeared frail just moments before, immediately altered her demeanor.
She quickly moved in front of Raelynn. “Ms. Margrett, this watch is truly stunning. May I have a closer look? Since it’s a gift for the three of them, perhaps I can help determine who it suits best.”
Raelynn shot her a cold glance and firmly declined, “It’s not intended for them.”
Alice’s face went still for a moment before she sneered. “Ms. Margrett, aren’t you aware that pretending to be aloof is a cheap tactic? Plus, you’ve given so much, yet they still don’t love you. Naturally, you’d feel the need to take drastic measures.”
Seizing the moment when Raelynn wasn’t paying attention, Alice swiftly grabbed the watch from her hand and hurled it forcefully to the floor.
In a split second, the watch worth 15 million dollars broke into pieces.
Raelynn watched in shock, fury rising inside her. She lifted her hand and slapped Alice hard.
The slap echoed, and Alice clutched her check, stunned.
Raelynn was still seething and felt that venting her anger wasn’t sufficient. Just as she was about to slap her once more, her wrist was abruptly caught in a firm grip.
“Stop!”
Her three brothers had appeared unnoticed and were now glaring at her with icy expressions.
As soon as she saw her supporters arrive, Alice’s tears started flowing, and she cried sorrowfully, “Mr. Adam, Mr. Benjamin, Mr. Charlie, please allow Ms. Margrett to punish me. I was the one who broke the watch she gifted you. It’s understandable that she’s upset.”
Benjamin felt a wave of sympathy. He gently brushed away her tears with his thumb and reassured her in a tender voice, “Alice, don’t cry. The watch was meant for us, so it’s okay if it’s broken.”
Charlie’s expression was frigid, his gaze brimming with contempt as he stared at Raelynn. “It’s merely a watch, yet you dared to touch Alice. Raelynn, you’ve crossed the line. Did you ever consider that we might not even want it when you bought it to give to us?”
Adam’s face darkened, and he called in a few bodyguards right away. “Take her and toss her into the swimming pool! That’s her punishment for hitting Alice!”
Upon receiving the command, the bodyguards promptly moved forward and tossed Raelynn into the pool before she could even react.
A loud splash resounded.

Chapter 5
Raelynn went under, soaked and gasping like a drenched rat.
What made the situation even more dire was her inability to swim!
“Help… save me…”

She thrashed around frantically, but this only caused more water to flood into her nose and lungs, making her choke.
Her energy slowly ebbed away, her movements became weaker and weaker, her body sank deeper, the air in her lungs dwindled, and her vision turned extremely blurry.
Right before she blacked out, she overheard the people on the shore talking.
“Adam, Benjamin, Charlie, it looks like Ms. Margrett can’t swim. Is she in any danger?”
“No, she’s just putting on an act as usual. She’s pretending she can’t swim to grab our attention.”
“Alice, you’re too kind. Even after she’s treated you so poorly, you still defend her. She deserves what’s coming.”
“Honestly, it would be better if she were gone. Then we wouldn’t be forced into marrying her.”
These words plunged Raelynn into utter despair.
Her vision slowly dimmed, and she felt herself sinking deeper, submerging into the water as she slipped into uncon-
sciousness.
When she regained consciousness, the strong scent of disinfectant filled her nostrils.
Raelynn had difficulty sitting up. Her long-time doctor looked at her with genuine concern and said, “Ms. Margrett, you can’t continue to ignore your health like this. During the earthquake, you fractured two ribs rescuing the three Norsters, and you still haven’t fully recovered. How could you spend so much time in the pool now?”
As the doctor finished talking, the ward door suddenly swung open with force.
Adam, Benjamin, and Charlie burst in, all asking at once, “Who did you say rescued us during the earthquake?”
