“Yes, I’m with her right now. I’ll personally escort her over in a few minutes.” Footsteps approached, then Louie knocked and entered after getting permission.
One look and he froze.]
“Are you… Amelia?”
Louie’s voice was uncertain, questioning.]
You couldn’t blame him. She was much thinner than before, wearing a mask, and in this outfit she was breathtakingly beautiful.[]
Even Harper might not recognize this as Amelia![]
Amelia turned around, seeing Louie’s expression, and nodded helplessly.[]
“It’s me,” she confirmed. “Let’s go.“]]

Louie nodded dumbly, his heart racing.
Amelia had always been beautiful, but now she was devastatingly so.[]
The old beauty had been gentle. This new beauty was weaponized.[]
Still processing, he grabbed a long coat from nearby and draped it over her shoulders.[]
Louie helped Amelia out to the waiting van, where a makeup artist was ready to do final touches–nail applications, shoe selection, and other details.[]
The van started toward the ‘Voice of Heaven‘ studio.[]
At the same time, another van headed in the same direction.[]
That van carried Vivian.[]
While directing her makeup artist to emphasize her fragile, tragic beauty, Vivian called Nathan.]]
“Nathan, it’s me,” Vivian said sweetly. “Yes, today’s the premiere! You have to come to the taping–I saved you a seat.”
“Right, they’re only accommodating me because of you.“[]
“Nathan, I understand how good you’ve been to me. I’ll do my best tonight.“[]
After hanging up, Vivian sent another message:[]
Nathan’s coming tonight. Get the follow–up content ready.[]
Getting an OK response, Vivian smiled with satisfaction.[]
At the ‘Voice of Heaven‘ studio in Manhattan, Amelia waited backstage with the other contestants.
Amid a commotion, Vivian arrived with her assistant.[]
Everyone there was their label’s top priority, so all the companies had warned their artists: don’t mess with Vivian.[]
The moment she entered, everyone stood to greet her.

Amelia, wrapped in her long coat, stood at the back of the group, calmly observing.[]
She’d understood industry politics years ago. This time, Vivian had the backing of Harrison Industries–specifically CEO Nathan Harrison–so naturally everyone deferred to her.
But Amelia wouldn’t lower herself to greet Vivian.[]
Without speaking, Amelia simply got up and left, avoiding the scene.[]
Vivian responded warmly to everyone who greeted her, then glanced toward where Amelia had gone.[]
Her eyes flickered slightly. She’d reviewed all twelve contestants‘ materials—eleven were clear, except for this “Elena” person.[]
Cavendish Entertainment’s top priority, with classified information.[]
Even using Harrison Industries‘ influence, the staff wouldn’t provide details.
They said this was Louie Cavendish’s personal project, with files kept at Cavendish Entertainment beyond their access.[]
Vivian had just glanced at the person without recognition. Probably not someone she knew.]
The attitude seemed pretty arrogant though. Was this Louie’s kept woman?[]
Whatever. She’d already put Nathan’s legal wife Amelia in her place–what was one of Louie’s side pieces?]]
With that thought, Vivian dismissed the person entirely.[]
Meanwhile, Amelia was checking the stage setup.
‘Voice of Heaven‘ had twelve contestants, three judges, and five rounds spaced a week apart.[]
The show aired live first, then edited highlights were released later, capturing both audiences.[]
Tonight was the premiere–judges and contestants would be introduced, then teams would be chosen.[]
The twelve contestants would be divided among the three judges‘ teams.
One judge was Vivian; the other two were established, respected singers.
Amelia carefully walked through her staging.
There had been rehearsals, but she’d been too weak to attend, managing only remote observation and communication.[]
There had been rumors about contestant Elena being a diva, but Louie had settled that with executives by showing them an anonymized medical record.
Apparently there’d been a serious accident ten days ago.
Up close, staff could still see bruises under “Elena’s” makeup that foundation couldn’t completely cover.[]
This was clearly injury–related absence, not diva behavior.]
Amelia noticed the staff’s curious looks but didn’t understand the context, so she ignored them and continued her inspection.[]
After a while, excited voices made her look
up automatically.

“Wow, it really is Nathan Harrison!“[]
“Doesn’t he usually avoid these kinds of events?“[]

“Oh oh oh, definitely here for Vivian.“[]
“Obviously. Harrison Industries is involved in entertainment, but different sectors–their main business is tech. Look at all these judges and contestants–besides Vivian, who else could get Nathan Harrison to show up?“]
“So the rumors about Vivian and Nathan are true?“]
“Probably.”
“But doesn’t Nathan have a wife?“]
“Rich people do this all the time, right? Plus Vivian’s dying. The legal wife probably just looks the other way. And honestly, Vivian seems better than her anyway. That woman has no backbone–just tolerating this because she can’t give up the Harrison money.“[]
“I know, right? If my boyfriend was cheating, I’d kick his ass to the curb. A dependent trophy wife like that deserves what she gets.”
“What are you talking about?” Louie appeared, looking displeased. “Don’t you know better than to gossip like that?“]
The chatterers immediately scattered.[]
Louie approached, looking at Amelia with concern.[]
In the crowd, he couldn’t say much, just communicated with his eyes.[]
Amelia smiled and shook her head gently. She’d already decided to leave Nathan–what did some gossip matter?]
“I have someone here to go over final details with you. In the back. Let’s go,” Louie said.[]
Amelia nodded and followed him backstage.]
Meanwhile, Vivian had reached Nathan’s side.[]
“Nathan!” she called sweetly.[]
“Mm.” Nathan nodded in acknowledgment. Looking up, he saw Louie protectively escorting a woman in a long coat toward backstage. He caught sight of a silhouette.
Vivian followed Nathan’s gaze and smiled. “That’s Elena.“[]
“The mysterious contestant I mentioned before. I suspect she’s Louie’s sugar baby.”
Nathan raised an eyebrow at her.[]
Vivian explained: “She missed rehearsals two days ago. People complained about Elena being a diva, but then Louie submitted medical records to the executives. Elena had an accident ten days ago and literally couldn’t get out of bed for rehearsal.“]`
“I didn’t think much of it then, but I just learned some inside information.“[]
Vivian smiled mysteriously. “That accident ten days ago? It was a miscarriage.“[]
