Chapter 66
Both of them had hurt her deeply.
If she could still manage her condition, Serena thought, Amelia wouldn’t ward hem to know.
But given how far things had progressed, Serena knew that while they could ign a caregiver for now, notifying family members was inevitable,
They proceeded with treatment that day.
The private clinic maintained strict confidentiality. Thanks to Amelia’s deliberate secrecy, no one else learned about her condition, even after her discharge.
When she was released, Serena reminded Amelia to take her medication on schedule, keep her follow–up appointments, and suggested maybe getting away for a change of scenery.
Amelia didn’t say much, just returned to her newly rented apartment.
Her injuries from the miscarriage and fall had mostly healed. Harper was handling her discharge paperwork from New York General, so Amelia didn’t need to worry about the details.
For a moment, she had no idea what she was supposed to do or what she was even doing.
Eventually, Louie found her.
Cavendish Entertainment Practice Building
Amelia was preparing for the third round of Voice of Heaven when her phone buzzed.
She glanced at the screen–Nathan calling.
Technically, they were still in their mandatory separation period, still legally married. She should probably discuss her decisions with him.
But soon, she and Nathan would have nothing to do with each other, so…
After thinking it over, Amelia declined the call.
Harrison Group
CEO’s Office
Nathan listened to the dial tone, his jaw tightening.
Without hesitation, he grabbed his car keys and headed for the door.
As soon as he stepped out, he caught snippets of hushed conversation:
“Did you guys see that online drama? About Mrs. Harrison dropping off some kid at school?”
“Oh my God, yes! It’s everywhere!”
“What do you think that’s about? Is that Mr. Harrison and Mrs. Harrison’s kid?
“No clue, but did you notice Eddie running around like crazy today? I bet he’s dealing with this mess.”
“What do you think Mrs. Harrison is trying to pull? Marking her territory? Or something else?”
“I have no idea, but timing it like this? There are only a few possibilities: one, she’s staking her claim; two, she’s going after inheritance money.”
“Oh wow, I didn’t even think about inheritance!”

“Right? Haven’t you seen those TV dramas where some secret child shows up claim their share? With Mr. Harrison spending all his time with Viviani now, maybe Mrs. Harrison is making one last grah before she walks away.”
Suddenly, someone spotted Nathan and called out. “Mr. Harrison!”
Everyone immediately stopped talking and bowed in unison.
Nathan swept his gaze over them, then stepped into the elevator.
What the hell was Amelia trying to pull?
Was this her new strategy?
He’d thought she’d finally learned to be reasonable, but apparently she’d just bund a different way to cause trouble.
She was still playing games!
Vivian’s broken sobs echoed in his ears.
Nathan got into his car, intending to confront Amelia, but then he froze.
He had no idea where to find her.
They hadn’t seen each other since that brief encounter at the hospital, when he’d glimpsed her and Caspian’s silhouettes through the frosted glass door.
Was she still at the hospital?
Nathan started the engine and drove toward New York General.
After all these days, he was finally returning to this place.
But when he inquired, he learned that Amelia had already been discharged.
The staff member looked at him like he was insane.
“You don’t even know when your own wife got discharged?” the nurse asked incredulously.
Nathan’s lips pressed into a thin line. He said nothing and left.
Back in his car, Nathan tried calling Amelia again.
No answer.
Then he called Harper.
Harper actually picked up.
“What do you want?” Harper’s voice was cold.
“Where’s Amelia?” Nathan cut straight to the point.
Harper shot back, “You don’t know where your own wife is? And you’re asking me? That’s rich!”
Nathan’s frown deepened.
“Harper, I’m being serious here,” he said. “What’s the deal with her and that kid?”
Harper knew exactly what was going on, but she wasn’t about to tell him.
“Go ask her yourself. Why are you bothering me?” Harper snapped. “When I called you before, didn’t you say I was just helping Amelia cause problems for you?”

“Well, don’t come to me now. I don’t want to say the wrong thing and have you accuse me and Amelia of conspiring against you again.”
“I’m not taking the blame for this!”
Harper hung up.
Nathan listened to the dial tone, rage building in his chest.
He slammed his fist against the steering wheel.
HONK-
The Bentley’s horn blared.
Amelia.
She was getting bolder by the day.
Before, it had been small–time drama. This time she’d produced an actual child
She knew damn well he wanted kids.
Countless times during their intimate moments, he’d caressed her stomach, coaxing her to have his baby, but…
Nathan took a deep breath, trying to calm down, and called Amelia again.
Still no answer.
His fury intensified.
This might be the angriest he’d ever been in his life.
Buzz buzz…
His phone vibrated. Nathan smirked coldly, thinking Amelia was finally calling back.
But it wasn’t her–it was his grandfather.
Frowning, Nathan answered.
“Grandfather.”
“Get your ass back to the estate tonight!” William’s furious voice exploded through the phone.
“Nathan, don’t think that just because you’re running Harrison Group now, you can do whatever you want! I’m not dead yet!”
Nathan rubbed his temples and agreed.
Finally, he tried to soothe him: “Grandfather, please don’t get so worked up. It’s bad for your health.”
“Now you care about my health!” William snorted and hung up.
Meanwhile
Amelia stared at her phone screen.
Nathan’s grandfather was calling.
After hesitating, she finally answered.
But once the call connected, she didn’t know how to address him.

After marrying Nathan, she’d always called him Grandfather, but now that they were separated…
Unable to decide, she remained silent.
William was quiet too. After about three seconds, a long, weary sigh came through the phone.
“Amelia, would you come to the estate tonight?” William’s voice was gentle. “en if you’re mad at Nathan, you should still visit this old man.”
Amelia gripped her phone tighter, then finally nodded.
“Okay,” she agreed.
She did need to visit the estate.
There were many things that needed to be handled.
Time flew by, and night fell.
Parking, getting out of the car.
After so many days, Amelia stood once again outside the Harrison family estate
