Chapter 6
In the evening, a group of people approached. It was my adoptive parents and some members of the Quinnell family. It seemed they had noticed Wynter and Quinnell trying to drag me away and, out of curiosity, came over to
see what was going on.
The one who had shouted was Butler Allen. At this moment, Allen had no time for manners and quickly rushed over, glaring at Wynter and Quinnell, and throwing an angry look at Krasty.
Wynter and Quinnell quickly released me, and before they could say anything. Allen stepped forward and slapped each of them across the face. The arrogant Wynter and Quinnell, who had been so brazen in front of me, now cowered in silence in front of Allen, too frightened to speak.
I gave Allen a signal, and he understood what I meant. Knowing I wasn’t ready to reveal my identity, he turned and angrily shouted, “What do you think this place is? Do you think you can cause a scene here and escape the consequences?”
Wynter and Quinnell immediately went silent, their faces drained of color.
At that moment, members of the Donald family and the Quinnell family quickly walked over, apologizing to Allen one after another. “Please forgive them!”
“Alisa has a harsh temperament, and the children were worried she’d cause trouble, so they were just trying to get her out. Please, show some understanding!”
“She was once the stepdaughter of the Donald family. We thought she was a kind, innocent child, but we didn’t expect her to go astray and nearly harm Wynter. She has been disowned by the Donald family and has no ties to us
anymore.”
“Although the Quinnell family and the Donald family have a marriage pact, we can only marry their legitimate daughter. Alisa is resentful and somehow managed to sneak into the estate today. Please don’t be upset. We’ll take care of her and escort her out immediately.”
Allen looked at them coldly, not responding.
Just then, Krasty smiled slightly and stepped forward, addressing Allen. “It’s just a small misunderstanding, nothing to worry about.”
“They are all my friends, so please, do me a favor and let this go. Gwen will be home soon, and the Will family’s party is waiting. Let’s not let something so trivial disturb everyone’s mood.”
Krasty seemed to have already assumed the role of the lady of the Will family estate, thinking her words could settle the situation.
Allen gave her a deep look, about to speak, when his eyes suddenly lit up. He turned toward a certain direction, bowed respectfully, and said
“Mr. Gwen, you’ve returned!”
