But I only looked at him coldly and asked, “Since I’m calling you “Dad‘ for now, can you honestly swear in front of my mother’s portrait that Snow is her real daughter?”
I could almost hear the gasps of shock from the crowd.
It seemed they thought I had gone too far.
Before anyone could question me, Mike Francis shouted angrily, “What are you saying?! I consider both you and Snow to be my daughters!”
He desperately tried to cover up the panic in his eyes.

He scolded me sternly, but no one noticed the unease in his eyes.
