Chapter 3
Then, the group of people rushed into the river, quickly swimming toward me.
It seemed like they were the debt collectors who had been bothering me recently.
Did they follow me all the way here just to collect the debts? Were they afraid that if I died, no one would repay
them?
When I regained consciousness, I found myself lying on a hospital bed.
The debt collectors had saved me, but I couldn’t feel any joy.
After all, that huge debt was something I’d never be able to repay in my lifetime.
There were several debt collectors standing in the room.
Looking at them, I wearily said, “I really have no money to pay you back.”
“Even if you sell me, I still can’t pay off that debt!”
“You shouldn’t have saved me…”
Before I could finish, two debt collectors suddenly kneeled beside the bed, their faces pale, trembling as they spoke.
“We’re sorry, we deserve to die!”
“Please, show mercy and forgive us!”
“We have elderly parents and young children at home. We were also deceived by that Wynter, which is why we treated you so badly!”
“If you’re still angry, break our arms and legs, we only beg you to spare our lives.”
These two were the most vicious debt collectors from before, the ones who had threatened to break my limbs and
sell me off to the countryside.
Now, what happened to them?
The two tough, fierce men now seemed like frightened little rabbits, their faces ashen and bodies trembling, looking at me with pleading eyes, as if my words could decide their fate.
The others, standing quietly, were also trembling, like obedient children, glancing at me with pity, repeatedly apologizing in a quivering voice.
What was going on?
Why had their attitude toward me changed so drastically?

Chapter 1
Before I could ask, an elderly man in a tailcoat w
into the room,
Seeing him, the debt collectors all lowered their heads in fear, not daring to make a sound.
The elderly man glanced at them coldly and said. “The money my young lady owes you has been fully paid.”
“Your previous mistreatment of her will not be easily overlooked. Once she recovers, we will decide how to deal with you.”
“Now, get out of here and stop being an eyesore.”
The debt collectors didn’t dare to utter a word and quickly left, looking fearful
The elderly man then walked over to my bedside, speaking to me gently and kindly.
“Miss, I am the butler of the family.”
“Master and Madam are abroad, handling some matters. They are aware of what happened and will return as soon as possible.”
“Mr Gwen has already learned of the situation and is on his way. He should arrive tonight.”
