As the evening wore on, the atmosphere in the mansion grew increasingly tense. Wynter and Quinnell glared at me. with eyes sharp enough to cut, and the air seemed charged with the energy of a brewing storm.
Just as I was beginning to feel lost, Krasty shot me a disdainful glance, her face showing clear signs of contempt.
“So, this is the Alisa you two were talking about?” she sneered, her voice dripping with derision.
“The one who’s always out causing trouble and owes a mountain of debt to the Donald family? How embarrassing–do you not realize where you are?”
Her mocking words only seemed to fuel the already heated atmosphere.
Wynter and Quinnell looked even more smug, their smiles widening as if they were already imagining me being
thrown out of the mansion.
Krasty’s cold voice cut through the tension. “Today is an important day for the Will family, and Gwen is about to return. She cares deeply for her long–lost sister. If anyone causes trouble today, they’ll be directly challenging the Will family, and the consequences will be severe.”
Wynter, clearly worried about Krasty’s tone, nodded eagerly and quickly muttered, “She’s no longer a member of our Donald family.”
Krasty raised an eyebrow and sneered. “I don’t care if she’s part of your Donald family or not.
Today is too important for the Will family, and Gwen is not someone you want to upset. Anyone who causes a scene today will have to deal with the consequences.”
Suddenly, with a quick move, Wynter stepped forward and slapped me across the face, her eyes filled with malice. “Alisa, you foolish woman, you really think you can cause trouble here?” she hissed, tightening her grip on my neck. “You should never have been allowed to live after we kicked you out.”
Quinnell followed suit, his face dark with anger, and slapped me just as hard. Through clenched teeth, he spat, “Everyone knows we’re allied with the Donald family. If you cause trouble, you’re hurting both the Donald and Quinnell families.”
With that, Wynter and Quinnell roughly bound my arms behind my back and covered my mouth to prevent me from screaming, dragging me toward the mansion’s exit.
Just then, a loud roar echoed through the air.
“Stop it, you damn bastards!”
