Chapter 11

Then he pointed at Nevaeh.
He said ferociously, “Nevaeh, mark my word. I will have whatever I want!
“And I’ll make you crawl back to us and beg us for our forgiveness!”
Nevaeh thought, “Beg you for your forgiveness?
“Dream on, Kenneth.”
She stared at the retreating figures of Kenneth and Florence intently, her eyes devoid of any emotion.
They soon got into their car and left.
Only then did she come back to her senses and look at Fabian.
“Did Erasmo ask you to bring me the marriage contract? He said it’d be a few days…”
“If word gets out that it takes us several days to handle a simple contract, I’m afraid no one will ever hire our law firm again.”

He adjusted his glasses and smiled proudly.
Then he swiftly took out the blue plastic-bound document from his briefcase and handed it to Nevaeh.
She led him and his assistant to sit down at a stone table in the courtyard.
Then she flipped open the contract, which was only two pages, and signed it without going through the terms.
Seeing how decisive she was, Fabian was slightly stunned.
“Ms. Tomlinson, aren’t you gonna review the terms?”
“That’s not necessary. I believe Mr. Fenton is a stand-up guy and won’t pull any shady tricks.”
“Alright then. We’ll get out of your hair now. This is my card.
“Should your parents come and harass you again, let me know. As for what happened today-as I said, I’ll file a case after gathering enough proof. Rest assured.”
It was probably one of the perks of marrying Erasmo.
She said, “Thank you.”
After watching Fabian and his assistant leave in their silver Audi company car, she then went back inside to rest.

Chapter 11
It was such a long day. She soon drifted off to sleep after she collapsed into bed.
When she woke up, it was already late at night.
Still groggy, she slipped on her slippers and walked out of the room.

A faint smell of something pungent-alcohol, maybe-drifted into her nostrils, but she didn’t dwell on it. She was so thirsty and wanted to fetch some water in the kitchen.
To her surprise, the second she walked into the living room, she heard whispers.
“Your dress is impossible to take off…”
A young man whined playfully while kissing something, making wet, suggestive sounds.
Maya complained, her voice sweet and coquettish, “You’re such a little fool… Be gentle… Let me teach you…”
Nevaeh paused and looked over at the sofa.
A good-looking young man was on top of Maya, kissing her body.
He wore nothing but boxers.
Was he Maya’s gigolo?
Nevaeh couldn’t help but sigh-Maya surely knew how to enjoy her life.
A couple of years ago, a dozen of the Murphy family members had died in an accident.
Maya happened to be studying abroad together with Nevaeh, and she had inherited all the family assets.
So, she had started to enjoy her life after graduation.
Both were about to take off their underwear.
Seeing this, Nevaeh couldn’t help but blurt out, “Wait…”
They froze.
Upon seeing Nevaeh in the kitchen, the man exclaimed. Then he quickly picked up his clothes on the floor and fled into the nearest room.
Looking at the closed door, Maya shook her head helplessly.
“What a coward.”
She then turned to Nevaeh and smiled apologetically, “I’m sorry, Nevaeh. I forgot you were home…”
Shaking her head, Nevaeh interrupted her, “I’ve stayed here long enough, I don’t wanna intrude on your life any- more… Maya, I was gonna tell you that I’m gonna move out soon.”
