Chapter 13
“Hey, where’s that guy who’s just booked the room on the thirteenth floor? He’s not in his room!”
“I’m sorry, Sir. I don’t know anything about that,” the receptionist said.
“I wanna see the surveillance footage!”
“Sir, I’m sorry, but we can’t give it to you. We must protect our guests’ privacy.”
The man was furious and was about to argue with the receptionist.
Just then, his accomplice urged him, “Let’s go! Erasmo’s men are here.”
Meanwhile, the receptionist asked, “Ms. Tomlinson, is there anything else I can help you with?”
“Nope. Thanks.”
Nevaeh hung up right away.
It was so dangerous out there right now. If she came out, perhaps she’d be in danger, too.
She took out a thin blanket and a spare pillow from the closet and arranged them on the lounge chair.
In the next second, the doorbell rang.
She paused slightly before walking over to the door on tiptoe and peering through the peephole at several men in black and sunglasses outside.
Though the man on the phone said Erasmo’s men were here, who knew whether he was lying or not?
Instead of opening the door, she decided to verify with Erasmo first.
The door was slightly ajar, and the water was still running.
Only then did she see that the bathroom floor was covered in water, which might spill into the room at any second.
Her heart sank, and she burst inside right away.
Erasmo in the bathtub passed out already.
He was gradually sinking into the bathtub, and the water level was only a few centimeters away from his nose.
She immediately turned off the faucet and shook him hard.
Yet, he remained unconscious.
Meanwhile, those outside kept banging on the door.

Chapter 13
Realizing they wouldn’t go anywhere, she felt a headache coming on.
She had no choice but to find herself a handy tool before walking over and opening the door.
She spotted the astonishment on their faces the second they saw her.
The man in the lead took off his sunglasses, nodded at her, and greeted her respectfully, “Hello, Ms. Tomlinson.”
She recognized him-he was one of the bodyguards following Erasmo outside the city hall that day. Only then did she finally relax.
“I’m so glad to see you. Come in. He’s unconscious in the tub…”
She was about to explain it to them, yet they had already rushed inside all at once.
They soon changed Erasmo out of his soaked clothes and called the private doctor waiting downstairs to come up.
Standing aside, Nevaeh felt a bit embarrassed, not sure what she could do.
Utterly uneasy, she answered her phone the second it rang, not even glancing at the caller ID.
“Nevaeh? Hi. I’m surprised you answered…”
Isaac?
He had some nerve to call her!
Her eyes were filled with disgust at once.
She couldn’t lash out in front of so many people and could only turn around and ask in a low voice, “What do you
want?”
“Nevaeh, I… I know I made a mistake. I’m so sorry. Come back to me, OK?
“You’ll still be my wife and have everything that’s mine. You…”
Hearing his words, Nevaeh sneered inwardly.
She thought, “Isaac definitely needs help.
“Now that he’s with Sheena, he wants to patch things up with me? How shameless!”
“Are you done? You castrated jerk.”
“What did you say, Nevaeh?”
“What is it? Did I say anything wrong? You slept with my dear sister and got yourself castrated.
“Even if Sheena leaves you, I’ll never take you back.”
After a pause, she continued word by word, “Listen carefully, Isaac.
