Nevaeh cleared her throat. “Of course. What’s up?”
“I’m just glad to hear your voice,” Maya said, sitting up from her soft bed in a slim-strapped top.
The makeup team she had booked had already started to work, and her new boyfriend next to her buried himself un- der the blanket sheepishly.
“Jayden said he wanted to treat you to a meal to apologize for last night.’
“Jayden? Your dog?” Nevaeh was puzzled.
་་
Maya gritted her teeth and said helplessly in a
smaller voice, “It’s my ex-boyfriend’s dog!”
“Then who’s Jayden?”
“Jayden Haynes, the man you saw last night. He’s my new boyfriend.”
Nevaeh was starving, so she agreed readily.
“I’ll get up now. Text me the address.”
“Sure thing.”
After hanging up, Nevaeh tossed her phone aside and stood up to pull the curtains open.
The bright sunlight fell across her face.
Though she was very unhappy about Erasmo, who was nowhere to be seen, she figured that perhaps it was a good thing that he was gone.
In this way, she wouldn’t feel too stressed.
After cleaning up the room, she stepped into the bathroom, not noticing anything wrong at all. Humming, she took a bath.

Meanwhile, in the CEO’s office on the top floor of the Fenton Group, Erasmo was dealing with work intently.
The scorching sunlight made his silver hair dazzling even more.
Suddenly, Anson walked inside.
He handed Erasmo his phone and said, his voice barely audible, “Mr. Fenton, it’s Mrs. Fenton…”
Nothing annoyed Erasmo more than being disturbed at work.

That was why he had especially turned off his phone. Yet, Acantha Fenton, his mother, still managed to reach him.
“Reject her call.”
Anson did as he was told.
However, Acantha wouldn’t give up.
Erasmo felt a headache coming on as Anson’s phone buzzed non-stop. Finally, he could only answer.
“You had an accident yesterday when securing a deal? Someone drugged you, and you ended up going back to your room with a woman? That’s kind of a relief. You’ve been single all these years. I thought maybe you’re not into wom-
en…”
Erasmo paused slightly before raising his voice to say, “Mom!”
“Fine. I’ll stop… Well, I’ve already told Leanna about it. She wants you to bring that woman back home tonight to have dinner together just to thank her.
Acantha’s voice trembled slightly in excitement.
She couldn’t wait to see the woman who had saved Erasmo.
Pondering, Erasmo furrowed his brows deeply.
Noticing his silence, Acantha pressed on, saying, “You won’t say no, right? Not with Leanna’s heart condition. You remember what the doctor said-she shouldn’t get worked up.”
Erasmo closed his eyes and exhaled helplessly.
Then he said with a sigh, “I see. I’ll take her home.”
Acantha hung up.
Staring at the document, he found that he was no longer in the mood to work.
He closed the file and looked up at Anson.
“Get the car ready and confirm if Nevaeh is still in the hotel. If so, we’ll go over there.”
“Alright,” Anson nodded hastily.
Half an hour later, Erasmo arrived at the hotel.
Jha autor the room
The bathroom door was slightly ajar, steam curling out and escaping into the cooler air.
Yet, there was no sound.
His heart skipped a beat.
He thought, “There are many cases of women ending up suffering carbon monoxide poisoning while taking baths. Is Nevach…”
At this, he barged in without hesitation.
