Chapter 19
Little did he know that she was secretly looking at him, too. The way she peered out the car window at him with cau- tiousness made her adorable.
Once he left, she looked around. Seeing no servants of the Fenton family, she decisively went home to catch up on sleep.
“Mr. Fenton has gone to the company, and Mrs. Fenton went home. Would you like us to keep following them?”
Two men in black sitting in a low-key black sedan in the corner texted Acantha.
Acantha smiled, figuring that Nevaeh needed some rest since she must have had some proper fun with Erasmo in bed last night.
She texted back, “No. Come back. Let them rest.”
Nevaeh, of course, knew nothing about their conversation. The second she went home, she collapsed into bed and continued to sleep.
At 3:00 p.m., she jolted awake from a bad dream. Looking around at the familiar environment, she muttered, “Just my luck. That shameless pair ruined my sleep.”
The more she thought about it, the more irked she felt, and she deliberately put on thicker makeup, which accentuated her stunning beauty.
Enjoying her face in the mirror, she took a selfie and sent it to Maya.
Meanwhile, Florence and Kenneth were at the entrance of the jewelry gala. Confronting the security guard, they snapped, “What’s this supposed to mean? Do you even know who we are? How dare you stop us!”
The security guard, however, remained unfazed. “I’m sorry. No one can enter without an invitation.”
“You…”
They were arguing with the security guard when Nevaeh stepped out of the car. Upon seeing her, they scowled.
“Nevaeh? What the heck are you doing here?”
“Why can’t I be here?” Nevaeh raised an eyebrow and looked at them calmly.
They were slightly surprised when they saw her gorgeous gown and flawless makeup. Somehow, she was like an en- tirely different person.
“You damned girl! You’re delusional if you think you can get in there to mooch with some borrowed gown. You don’t belong here!” Florence’s eyes were burning with jealousy as she stepped forward, wanting to strip Nevaeh’s gown off.

Chapter 19
Nevaeh quickly stepped back to distance herself from them. “You’re ridiculous.”

upon Kenneth as she taunted, her voice flat, “Instead of bugging me, why don’t you go after your own fell gaze family? After all, I cut all ties with you already. We’re nothing to each other now.”
Kenneth’s expression darkened as he spat, “You brat! We’re your parents! You…”
“You were no longer my parents the second you accepted the money,” Nevaeh interrupted him irritably.
Kenneth’s voice caught in his throat at her words. As he looked at her expensive gown, he found his new target. “You’re no longer my daughter? All the more reason why you shouldn’t show up here. Look at yourself. What’s that you’re wearing? You look so slutty. You disgrace the entire Tomlinson family.”
As he recalled everything that had happened, he was furious and even wanted to step forward to slap her.
Nevaeh, however, burst into laughter right away. “Seriously? I disgrace the family? I’m nothing compared to Sheena, my dear sister who screwed my fiance.”
Kenneth and Florence played favorites again-it was so typical of them.
Her voice was loud enough to attract several onlookers, who stopped in their tracks and enjoyed the farce.
The venue manager rushed over. Upon seeing Nevaeh, who was surrounded by a crowd, he panicked.
“Ms. Tomlinson, are you OK?”
“Yeah. These two troublemakers tried to barge in without an invitation. Could you deal with them?” Nevaeh said flat- ly, no longer expecting anything from Kenneth and Florence.
