Chapter 6

Clearly, she was in a great mood.

Then she pulled the car in front of the biggest nightclub in Starhmore.

An attendant with blue eyes was standing at the door, his toned chest muscles peeking from under his slightly open

collar.

A trace of amazement flashed across his eyes as he saw Nevaeh. He trotted over and opened the door for her. “Good evening, Ma’am.”

Maya stepped out of the car and pulled out a confetti cannon out of the blue.

With a sharp pull, colorful paper flakes were everywhere.

“Congratulations, Nevaeh. At twenty-three, you officially enter a new chapter of your life. Let’s go. I’ve got every- thing arranged.”

The loud music almost numbed Nevaeh’s heart.

Under the flashing neon lights, countless young men and women were dancing rhythmically to the beat on the dance floor, their bodies pressed against each other.

A 1.85-meter-tall man with great abs was doing a pole dance on stage, setting the entire nightclub on fire.

In the booth sat eight male escorts with different styles, and one could catch a glimpse of their toned chest muscles through their slightly open collars.

Maya pulled Nevaeh to sit in the middle. Immediately, they started to pour wine for her.

“Pretty, have my wine.”

“Ignore him. Have mine. Have mine, OK? Please?”

Nevaeh drank in silence.

On the contrary, Maya was much more at ease. She gulped down a glass of wine handed by one of the men and then felt his abs and tucked a few bills into his waistband. “Hey, nice abs.”

Nevaeh acted calm and reached for the fruit plate on the table.

Maya hooked her arm around Nevaeh’s neck and whispered, her tone flirtatious and meaningful, “None of them are your type?

“No worries. More choices coming up.”

Chapter 6

Nevaeh quickly shook her head.

She still needed time to adjust to such an atmosphere.

“Let go

of the past. Time to move on. What’s so good about that piece of shit anyway?” Maya said.

“I have moved on,” Nevaeh said firmly.

“Yeah, right,” Maya scoffed.

Nevaeh parted her lips but didn’t know what to say.

“Prove it.”

Maya pointed at an aloof man surrounded by his bodyguards. “I dare you to friend him on WhatsApp.”

Looking over, Nevaeh saw a silver-haired man with a chiseled jawline.

He was talking to someone. The dark blue suit accentuated his broad shoulders and lean waist, adding a touch of al- lure to his reserved demeanor.

Maya could always spot the most handsome man in a crowd.

The alcohol made Nevaeh impulsive. She stood up while propping her hands against the table and said, “Wait here.”

Nevaeh tossed her hair over one shoulder and strode toward the man with a half-full wine glass in her hand.

She pushed the bodyguards away and stood in front of the silver-haired man. “Hey, handsome. Are you single?”

The man said without even glancing at her, “Piss off.”

Nevaeh fell silent.

His reaction hit her hard.

She thought, “I was selected as the campus belle back then in university. How could he be so rude to me?”

Under the influence of the wine, she could no longer think straight. On a whim, she wrapped her arms around his

neck and kissed him.

The bodyguards were dumbfounded. They quickly stepped forward, trying to stop her, but it was too late.

The moment their lips met, Erasmo pressed her down on the sofa while gripping her throat.

“How dare you.”

He could kill her as long as he tightened his grip.

Yet, Nevaeh didn’t seem scared at all.
