The suitcases were soon closed with a snap under her shocked gaze.
“There’s 150 thousand dollars in these two cases, which should be enough to cover your living expenses this money. I’ll transfer your monthly al I’ll transfer your monthly allowance to your account starting next month. As for the marriage contract-I’ve had my le- gal team draft it. You’ll receive it in a few days.”
Never in his life had he said so many words in a single breath.
As the bodyguard handed Nevaeh the two itcases, she reached out to take them and almost fell to the ground.
Though she had 1.5 million dollars, she never realized that 150 thousand dollars in cash could feel so heavy.
Erasmo said patiently again, “No more questions? Then let’s go inside. I’m in a hurry.’
She gritted her teeth and made up her mind.
“Fine. I’ll marry you. But we have to make one thing clear.”

Since he was in a hurry, she said bluntly, “Since we’re gonna get a divorce in three months anyway, we don’t have to live together.”
“Alright.”
They soon reached a deal.
Just like that, Nevaeh was married to a stranger.
She had no time to dye her hair back and could only take the wedding photo with him just like that.
The whole thing ended so quickly, and the atmosphere wasn’t joyful at all.
But she didn’t care. After all, it was essentially a trade.
What caught her attention was his name, Erasmo Fenton.
“Your surname is Fenton?”
She asked instinctively, “Do you know Isaac?”
Erasmo tucked the marriage certificate into his pocket casually. “He’s my son.”
Nevaeh was stupefied.
She glanced at the marriage certificate and then looked up at him.
“You’re Isaac’s … father?”

Erasmo arched an eyebrow. “Yeah. Why? Do you know him?”
“No… I saw him on TV,” she lied.
“He’s so
assing,” Erasmo commented, the disdain in his voice undisguised.
“Give me your phone,” he then commanded.
Nevaeh was slightly stunned. Then she unlocked her phone and gave it to him.
He used her phone to call him, saved his number on her phone, and gave it back to her.
“Don’t call me unless something big happens. I’m very busy. But you gotta be there whenever I ask you to.”
“OK.”
She was happy to say yes to his demands as he was her “sugar daddy”.
“I’ve got something to do, so I’m off.”
Nevaeh still felt so unreal as she
atched Erasmo leave while being surrounded by his bodyguards.
She went to a nearby bank and deposited the cash. Now, she had a new black card.
On the way back, she flipped through the marriage certificate a bunch of times.
She wondered, “What will the look on Isaac’s face be when he knows I’m married to his father?
“I bet I’m gonna need a camera for that.”

Outside Maya’s apartment building, Nevaeh spotted two familiar figures from a distance. It was Kenneth and Flo-
rence.
They must have been so desperate to find her.
“Stop right there, Nevaeh!”
Kenneth strode forward, grabbed her arm, and slapped her hard.
His face twisted in anger, and even his hands were trembling.
“I asked you to clarify, yet you recorded us? We raised you for more than twenty years, and this is how you repay us? Good for you, you damned girl!”
Florence tugged at his sleeve.
“That’s enough. No matter what, you shouldn’t have slapped her. What if someone saw you?”
She then turned to look at Nevaeh with a frown. “Nevaeh, Sheena was already in poor health, and these two surgeries nearly killed her. She might have made a mistake, but don’t you think she’s punished enough?
