Chapter 12 Epilogue
Princess Emily returned once more to Vermilion Ridge. This time, she sat quietly before Eleonora’s
gravestone.
Just like in the old days, she brought Eleonora’s favorite–vanilla cake.
“I still remember,” she said softly, “before we parted ways, we sat together drinking flower tea and eating vanilla cake.”
“In the blink of an eye, so many years have gone by.”
She sighed and began recounting all that had happened since.
“Your mother passed away. It was your father who found her.”
“She had lost her mind… but strangely, on the day before she died, she seemed unusually lucid.”
“She even went to wash up all by herself, without needing anyone’s help.”
“The next morning, your father discovered that she had taken poison. She had ended her life.”
“Your father was devastated. Sebastian had to call the doctors urgently.”
“He turned completely white overnight.”
“Sebastian and Alexa don’t get along. Alexa left home young, chasing dreams in dtant lands.”
“The estate is now just Sebastian, drifting through the days like a ghost.”
“As for Ophelia… she was found to have contracted a venereal disease. No one dares go near her.”
“Not long ago, she was seen being chased away on the streets like a beggar.”

Emily sat there in silence for a long time before slowly rising to her feet.
“I’ve been a bit busy lately. I’ll come visit again next month.”
She smiled softly as she spoke, then turned to leave.
