Chapter 7
He suddenly felt that Gwen was a bit annoying.
Gwen knew exactly how to handle Felix. She hugged him from behind and pressed her face against his back.
“You don’t want to see me, do you? So, you don’t love me at all?”
Felix’s heart ached slightly at her words. His heart became softened.
“Be good, don’t overthink it. It’s my fault for being too busy lately and not having time for you.” Felix actually wanted to ask if a heart could truly love two people at the same time.
He didn’t want to divorce me, nor did he want to part ways with Gwen. Perhaps he was truly a complete scoundrel.
A message suddenly popped up on Instagram.
Although the turmoil caused by the Walpole Family’s withdrawal of investment had subsided, moving on to the next stage was still difficult. The bank was unwilling to lend them any more money and if they couldn’t find an investor within a week, the company would face bankruptcy. He suddenly felt a headache coming on. Gwen was nestled in his arms, but she suddenly remembered something and jumped up.
“Felix, I’ve thought of a way to save the company.”
“I remember the uncle who sponsored me in university was also a high-ranking executive at the Walpole Group. Maybe we can ask him for help.”
At that moment, Felix felt that Gwen was his saviour.
He held her tightly in his arms, spinning her around in joy and in the heat of the moment, he made a promise.
‘Gwen, you’re truly the goddess sent by heaven to save me.”
‘Once this crisis is completely resolved, I’ll give you a grand wedding and marry you into my family.”
Gwen was stunned and gently kissed him on the lips. “Are you really willing to divorce Helena?”
Felix was desperate to please Gwen and would say anything.
‘I’ve had no feelings for her for a long time. The only reason I didn’t divorce her before was because I was still clinging to the memories of our youth. But now I’ve seen the truth that you’re the one I want to cherish for the rest of my life.”
After that night, I saw Felix again at a university reunion banquet.
He was holding hands with Gwen, whose belly was slightly rounded. Even though he had cheated, men are all the same and they only praised him for his good fortune with women, while criticizing me for not being a good wife and not taking care of the family.
“Oh, Mr. Borgia, you’ve got a new partner, replacing the old.”
“When are you planning to give your wife a wedding? Make sure to invite us to the wedding banquet!”
The one speaking was Martin Gomez, the class monitor from the university. He had stolen my
calculus notebook to pursue me back then, then pretended to return it to me. He thought I’d be moved to tears, but I had already checked the surveillance footage, so he lost all face and harbored a grudge against me.
“So, what if she was the class beauty? She was abandoned anyway.”
He hooked his arm around Felix’s shoulder. “Felix, let me tell you, this kind of woman just needs a lesson. I want to see how she can survive without you.”
Felix kept his arm around Gwen’s waist the entire time, not even glancing at me.

Martin grew bolder, shoving a bottle of wine into my hands.
“Come on, drink this bottle of wine. We’ll call it even. After you go into the entertainment industry, I might even show some mercy and help you out with your business.”
I snorted and grabbed my bag to leave, but my path was suddenly blocked.
Martin stood before me, determined that I wouldn’t leave until I drank the bottle.
He pushed me hard and I fell onto the sofa.
After drinking some wine, he started acting like a thug. He had been too outstanding in school and had made many enemies.
The people inside the house pretended not to see what was happening. A group of people gathered at the door to drink and chat, occasionally glancing in my direction.
Martin ripped the necklace off my neck and stuffed it into his pocket.
