Chapter 8
“At least you used to be Felix’s wife. This necklace must be worth a lot of money.”
Then he looked at my neck with a wicked smile. “Scream if you dare. I want to see if your body is as hard as your damn pride.”
He roughly tore off the sleeve from my collar, his hand reaching toward my neck, but was suddenly kicked away by someone.
He clutched his head and cursed, “Which blind bastard dares to ambush Mr. Gomez?”
A tall figure enveloped me. Louise took off his suit jacket and draped it over me.
His eyes were bloodshot and he charged toward Martin like a wolf protecting its prey.
Martin staggered to his feet, stammering a threat, “This bar owner is my brother. If you dare touch me, he won’t let you off.”
Louise didn’t even glance at him. He grabbed his collar and punched him several times.
Only when Martin was beaten to the ground did he stop.
He picked me up and Felix, who had been pretending to be dead and watching the show, suddenly blocked our path.
‘Sir, you’ve overstepped your bounds. This is my wife. Please let her go.”
Louise sneered, “The wife you’re suing for divorce?”
‘Let me tell you, from the day she asked for a divorce, you’re no longer her husband.”
Felix suddenly flew into a rage and shoved Louise’s shoulder hard.
‘As long as the divorce isn’t finalized, she’s still my wife. If you dare take her away, I’ll sue her fo adultery.”
had underestimated Felix; he actually said that.
Louise looked down at me and asked softly, “Do you want to come with me?”
nodded and Louise smiled warmly, hugging me and walking away. As we passed Felix, our shoulders collided, making a loud thud.
He reacted and chased after us, but Louise glanced at the bodyguards waiting at the door, who mmediately blocked Felix’s path.
Felix was furious behind me.
‘Helena, I really underestimated you. In just a few days, you’ve already hooked up with another man. You’re something else.”
But with Louise’s men blocking him, he could only rage helplessly.
With reddened eyes, Gwen held her stomach and wrapped her arm around his. “Felix, there are so many people watching. I’m the one you’re about to marry.”
Felix’s anger grew and he suddenly found Gwen annoying. But for the sake of securing the investment from Gwen’s sponsor, he suppressed his anger.
After the class reunion, Felix posted a love declaration on his social media and even Gwen suddenly added me on Instagram, clearly aiming to flaunt her happiness to me.
She posted a photo of the living room of the villa she shared with Felix, casually revealing her slightly rounded belly.
“Son, look, this is all the empire your mother has built for you.”
The comments section was filled with flattering remarks from company employees.
[Congratulations to Secretary Gwen and Mr. Borgia on their upcoming happy event.]
[Secretary Gwen is about to give birth to the eldest son of the Borgia Family. Youth have its advantages; the first child is a boy. Unlike some older women.]
Having navigated the business world for so many years, I knew this was a dig at me.
Not wanting to miss out on the drama, I tapped out a few words on my keyboard and sent them.
[When I first saw Secretary Gwen, I knew she and Felix were a perfect match. After all, trash belongs in the trash can!]
Almost as soon as the message was sent, Felix and Gwen’s messages came in simultaneously.
Felix: [I knew you still cared about me, didn’t you?”
[If you divorce me, no matter how much you beg, I’ll never take you back.]
