Elias Shaw hired a private investigator from somewhere.
And damn, the guy was awesome.
He laid out everything that had happened between Zora and me over the past three years–stuff even I’d forgotten, but this investigator knew it all.
Looking at the mountain of evidence, I had to admire Zora’s dedication. She’d really earned her success in breaking
us up.
Elias requested a prison visit.
Through the glass partition, he held up the evidence piece by piece in front of Zora.
“Zora, did you really hate me that much?”
Zora had gotten much thinner. There were bruises on her face, and she looked completely baffled.
“I never hated you. Actually, I wanted to marry you. If anyone’s to blame, it’s Elara for getting in my way.”
Elias’s Adam’s apple bobbed violently, veins popping in his neck, his eyes completely bloodshot from exhaustion.
“You still don’t feel any remorse even now! I treated you so well! How could you hurt the person I loved most? How could you be so vicious?!”
After Elias yelled at her, Zora’s expression turned ice–cold. She narrowed her eyes, and her words dripped with
venom.
“Who you like is none of my damn business. I wanted to marry you, not because I loved you. Sure, I know you saw me as a little sister and treated me well, but would you buy your sister a house? A car? Designer bags and diamond rings? I’m fighting for my future, and you’re here calculating favors?”
‘After my mom died, I wasn’t about to let my status drop and settle for marrying a useless man. If there hadn’t been anyone else worth my time, do you think I’d have gone through all that just to be a mistress? I rolled the dice and lost–fine! I’m sorry to Elara too!”
‘But you–you’re a two–timing jerk, always going on about love, love, love, but you’re just a pathetic dog who comes running the second someone snaps their fingers. Why is it that only you fall for my tricks so easily? Why don’t you take a look at yourself?”
Before the guards took her away, Zora looked at Elias with pure disgust.
“You’re a cheater, and we both got what we deserved.”

My Orthopedic Boyfriend Chose His Childhood Sweetheart on the Operating Table
Chapter 11
“You better hope you burn in hell fast, because Elara’s going straight to heaven where she’ll never have to see your face again.”
“Ha, hahaha
Elias slumped in his chair, completely broken, tears pouring down his face.
This was the first time I’d ever seen him totally lose his mind.
He stumbled out of the prison, squinting in the sunlight as he slowly crouched down and called my mom with a trembling voice.
“Mrs. Morgan, I’m begging you… please just tell me where Elara is resting. I’ll do anything…”
“No way!”
My mom’s voice was stone–cold.
