“The housekeeper nearly called the police and I told them I was the one who hit him. Mom got furious and punished me by banning me from eating dinner.”
“Later that night, my brother snuck me a big chicken leg and asked why I took the blame for him.
I told him I was scared he’d get arrested and he laughed. He said even if the police did arrest him, he’d still protect his little sister.”
“So this is what it feels like to have a brother who has your back.”
Jack seemed genuinely surprised as he listened, while the livestream chat went wild.
[Wait… she was this kind once?]
[Maybe she only turned bad because she had no choice…]
My brother kept his eyes on the rabbit, lost in memories.
“He used to say I was like this little rabbit–soft, sweet and lovable. She had once been such a gentle sister. So what had turned her into… that?
Beside him, Jesica gripped the hem of his jacket, tears in her eyes.
“Sis… she’s not a bad person deep down. Don’t hate her, okay?”
As she looked up, her bangs shifted, revealing a long, jagged scar across her forehead.
My brother snapped back to the present, his gaze turning cold.
“You’re still this soft–hearted? She nearly ruined your face! Don’t speak for her!”
[Whoa–that scar was from her? There’s no way I’m believing anything that girl says now!]
Jack frowned, then focused back on the rabbit, letting the recording continue.
“My sister didn’t come home late that day. Dad was about to call the police when she walked i -her dress torn, her head bleeding. She suddenly knelt down and kowtowed in front of me.”
“She said she knew she was wrong, that she shouldn’t have tried to steal Mom, Dad and Brother’s love from me. She begged me not to send anyone to hurt her anymore and said she was leaving the house for good.”
“My brother got so angry he wanted to call the police and have me arrested. I cried–I really didn’t do it… But my sister spoke up for me. She said no one could know what had happened, that it would ruin our family’s name–especially since I’d only just been brought home a year ago. And just like that, the entire family looked at me like I was filth.
“They locked me in the utility room and told me to reflect on what I’d done. I was so lost… why didn’t anyone believe me?”
Jack paused again. He looked confused.
The voice in the recording was full of raw pain–my cries, desperate need for my family’s trust. It didn’t sound like a bully’s confession.
It sounded like someone whose heart had been broken. Someone is lying.
He glanced over at Jesica.
She was crying now, her face hidden in her hands.

“Why is she twisting the truth like this?” she sobbed. “She knows I almost…”
Her voice cracked. “Would I really risk my innocence and reputation just to frame her?” The livestream chat exploded with outrage.
[So this wicked girl’s been like this from the beginning!]
[Still pretending to be the victim?! Lock her up already!]
Just then, the eight trigrams mirror in Jack’s hand cracked with a sharp, unnatural snap.
Gasps filled the chat.
[What just happened?!]
[Jack–are you okay?!]
Jack’s face turned ashen. He cursed under his breath and barked at the chat to stay quiet.
Then he pressed play again, letting the rabbit speak.
“But all I wanted… was to be loved. And not be blamed for every little thing. No matter what I did, someone always found a reason to accuse me. No one believed me–not once.”
‘I was so sad… I cried and asked, why dont Mom and Dad and my brother believe me? is it because I’m not as good as my sister?”
‘So, I turned that sadness into motivation. I studied hard. And eventually, I got into a decent second–tier college. I was so happy–because it was far from home. Finally, I could live my own ife.”
The recording was filled with youthful joy–her excitement about her new school, her new friends and her freedom.
Jack looked visibly moved. It sounded like I had finally found peace–away from my family.
