Chapter 12
Samuel didn’t hesitate for even a second. He purchased a plane ticket that would fly him to Arasia, Kaubreta.
He felt like he was losing his mind ever since Julie disappeared. He had sent his subordinates out to every corner of the world in search of her, but their efforts had been fruitless.
It was as if Julie had never existed at all.
Not only had she gone radio silent, but everything that was related to her had also disappeared from the Lloyd residence, including the wedding photo in their bedroom, her clothes in their closet, her shoes in the shoe cabinets, and the bedsheets.
Even her toothbrush had disappeared from the bathroom. The slippers she used to walk around in had also gone missing. It was as if a pair of giant, invisible hands had wiped her very existence clean from the world.
The villa no longer had any trace of Julie’s presence. Samuel not only failed to locate her, but her very existence was slipping through his fingers. He couldn’t even find a single photo of
her.
He knew that he had lots of photos of Julie saved on his phone. He wasn’t sure if someone had accidentally deleted all of them or if his phone was malfunctioning, but all of Julie’s photos had disappeared.
Even Julie’s Twitter account had disappeared from his following list. He had never blocked her on the app, but it seemed that her account had simply disappeared into thin air.
It was the same with her phone number. Samuel couldn’t find her number in his contact list, so he had no way of making contact with her.
He had completely lost her.
Fear that Samuel had never experienced before gripped his heart when he became aware of this fact. Julie was his entire life. He couldn’t afford to lose her!
Samuel lost every shred of his rationality at that moment. He became even more unhinged as he rabidly searched for any clue of her whereabouts. However, his efforts had been all for naught.
The two days that Howard gave him were nearly up. Having no other option, Samuel decided to put all his eggs in one basket. Through clenched teeth, he signed the divorce agreement.
He pinned all his hopes on that bastard, Howard, to contact Julie after he got the divorce agreement. As long as he clung to this final lead that he had, Samuel was convinced that it

would eventually lead him to where Julie was hiding.
It was why Samuel had immediately spent a fortune to hire a professional hacker from the dark web after he signed the agreement.

“I’m not sure why, but everything that’s related to my wife has disappeared from my phone,” Samuel told the hacker as he showed the phone to him. “Her photos, her contact details, the posts I made that had her in them, and even her Twitter account. Everything’s gone!”
The hacker took Samuel’s phone from him. He only had to scroll through it briefly before discovering the cause of Samuel’s dilemma.
“Your phone was tampered with,” the hacker explained as his fingers flew across the screen of
the device.
It didn’t take long before software that Samuel had never seen in his life appeared on the
screen.
“I’ve never installed this software on my phone!” he exclaimed, stunned. “How was it installed onto my phone?”
“You don’t have to be the one to install it. As long as the hacker has special equipment on him and gets close enough to you, he can sync with your phone even from a long distance away,” the hacker said. “He can then control your phone whenever you’re not using it.”
“That’s ridiculous. He doesn’t even need to get his hands on my phone? He just needs to get close enough for the sync to work?” Samuel asked, disbelief written all over his face.
“It’s not that ridiculous. Regular people won’t be able to do it. Only a top-tier hacker can do it, “the hacker replied with a smile.
“Besides, your phone doesn’t have any protection software on it. I’ll help you install anti- hacking software later. With that, no matter how skilled the hacker is, he won’t be able to easily break into your phone.”
“What about the missing data?” Samuel asked. “Can you restore it? That data contains
precious memories between my wife and me. I’m willing to pay you any amount you ask for if you’re able to restore it.”
