Chapter 22
Cynthia lay in a pool of blood with tears streaming down her face.
She choked back a sob and cried out in near despair. “No… I don’t believe it. You said you loved me, Samuel. You said you were madly in love with me. I don’t believe that I’m just disposable
trash that can be sacrificed at will.”
She wept as she dragged herself to Samuel’s feet, her blood-covered hand reaching for Samuel’s leg.
“I don’t believe it! I won’t believe it! Sam, you must love me. You do love me, right?”
But Samuel lifted his leg and kicked her aside with an impatient look on his face!
“I did like you a little. But what I liked was your obedience, sensibility, and how you knew how to make me happy,” he said with a sneer. “Do you get it? To me, you’re like a pet dog. I play with you when I’m happy. And if I’m not, I can crush you under my foot at any time!
“But Julie is different. She’s the only one I’ve ever loved. Only a noble and untouchable woman like her is worthy of being my beloved. You, on the other hand, are just a bed warmer I’ve gotten bored with.
“You used to be well-behaved and sensible. That’s why I was willing to treat you well and
shower you with a bit of love. If you had just served me well and kept your head down, I would’ve kept you around.
“But the one thing you shouldn’t have done was go after Julie! She is my everything! I can’t live without her! But you stabbed me in the back. You sent her those filthy videos and challenged her over and over again. You’ve crossed the line, Cynthia!”
As he spoke, Samuel grabbed Cynthia by the neck and snarled viciously, “It’s because of you that Julie wants a divorce. She called the police on me and won’t even let me near her now. You ruined me, you bitch. How do you think I should punish you?”
Cynthia couldn’t help but recoil at his words. She cried and begged for mercy. “I made a mistake, Sam. I won’t do it again. Please let me go! I’ll behave and listen to everything you say! I’ll never step out of line again! Please forgive me!”
But Samuel’s gaze only grew colder.
“So, you finally understand. Too bad it’s too late,” he said icily. “Like I said, I hate being played. Since you claim to have cancer, go to the hospital to get chemotherapy. If you’re sick, you need treatment, don’t you?”
As he said that, a twisted smile spread across his face.
Cynthia seemed to realize what he meant and began to struggle frantically. “No! Samuel! You can’t do this to me! I’m Luke and Anna’s mother! They’ll never forgive you if you treat me like
this!”
Samuel let out a sinister laugh at that. “Luke and Anna need to know what I’ve done. I think that they’ll hate you even more once they learn the truth. They were supposed to inherit everything I have. But now, thanks to you, they won’t get a single cent.”
Cynthia froze. She looked up at Samuel with an expression of disbelief. “What do you mean? Luke and Anna are your biological children. You’re not going to abandon them too, are you?”

“I wish I could take care of them, but Julie knows they’re your children,” he said coldly. “I know her. Even if she does eventually forgive me, she’ll never accept the children you gave birth to. So, too bad. The two bastards you bore will inherit nothing.
“I’ll pass them off to an offshoot of the Lloyd family. Someone with no heirs will adopt them. Then, I’ll declare to the public that they’re distant relatives. They won’t starve, but they can forget about ever inheriting a single cent of the Lloyd family’s fortune.”
