Chapter 9
Although Samuel had temporarily regained control of the situation, the reporters’ questions once again plunged the banquet into a state of chaos.
“Now that he mentioned it, the young boy does look very similar to Samuel.”
“The girl has the same eyes as Mr. Lloyd. Just take a closer look at her brow. The more you study her face, the more similar they look.”
“So, these twins aren’t actually Samuel’s adopted children? Instead, they might be his illegitimate children?”
“No wonder Julie wants to divorce him! Anyone would lose their mind if this happened to
them!”
The truth was that many eagle-eyed guests had noticed early on that Samuel’s adopted children looked very similar to him. However, those who were able to climb their way into the upper class were mostly intelligent people.
Even if they stumbled across a huge scandal, they wouldn’t talk about it. After all, the Lloyds were a powerful family. No one was brave enough to offend Samuel.
However, circumstances were different now since the reporters had exposed this scandal in front of everyone. It was as if the final curtain had been torn down, exposing Samuel’s dirty secrets that he tried to keep hidden in the dark.
The banquet descended into chaos once more. Even Samuel was unable to regain control of the situation again.
Howard Larson, Julie’s divorce lawyer, handed the divorce agreement to Samuel once again. Please sign this, Mr. Lloyd. The sooner you sign it, the sooner all of this will be over,” he said with a grin.
“Scram!” Unable to control his anger any longer, Samuel snatched the divorce agreement out
of Howard’s hands and tore it to pieces.
Howard seemed to have predicted that Samuel would behave in such a way, Samuel had only just destroyed the divorce agreement when Howard pulled out an identical one from his bag, grinning the entire time.
“Mr. Lloyd, please cooperate and sign the agreement,” Howard said. “Don’t make things difficult for me. After all, Ms. Stamford gave me a lot of money to help her end this unhappy marriage. If you refuse to sign the divorce agreement, I’ll have to resort to other methods—”
Samuel didn’t give Howard a chance to finish his sentence. He grabbed Howard’s collar and hissed, “Who the hell do you think you are to bargain with me? Where’s Julie? Where is she now? I want to see her!”
Howard showed no signs of fear despite how furious Samuel was. His grin was a permanent fixture on his face, reminiscent of a cunning and scheming fox.
“Ms. Stamford doesn’t want to see you,” Howard replied. “She has already left the country. However, before she departed, she left me with some interesting things.”
Howard paused before he retrieved his phone. He scrolled through the device until he came upon the video he was looking for. In the video, Cynthia was kneeling between Samuel’s legs. She was smiling coyly as she loosened Samuel’s belt.
The video was silent. Howard was a reasonable man. He used his hand to block the screen, so
only Samuel could see the explicit video playing on his phone. No one else had a clue what they were looking at.
“I’m sure you don’t want another person to watch this video, am I right, Mr. Lloyd?”
Howard smiled as he offered the divorce agreement to Samuel once again. “As long as you sign this, I’ll delete the video. If you still refuse to sign it, I’ll have no other choice but to share this video with our good friends in the media.
“I’m sure they’ll be very interested in learning about your relationship with Ms. Morgan once they watch this video.”
