As the gathering wound down, White pulled Johnathan aside to discuss a potential partnership. Johnathan didn’t refuse, but since it was getting late, they agreed to set a time to talk in detail.

“White was there today – do you think he’ll do something?”
“That depends on what he does,” Johnathan replied.
The reason he’d gone easy on his uncles today was to observe how White would handle it.
And he was right – White was already arranging to contact Johnathan’s two uncles.
“Find a way to stir up more trouble, but make sure no one suspects anyone’s behind it.”
White knew Johnathan was a suspicious man. If he sensed manipulation, he’d immediately suspect White.
