OOPS MARRIED 5

OOPS MARRIED 5

Chapter 5

“Why! Why would you do this to me? Why didn’t you tell me anything?”

Faced with his interrogation, I let out all the words I’d been holding back for so long.

“What about you? Why did you do this to me? Did you think just because I was abroad, I didn’t know anything? Parading Sophie around right in front of me like that-did you think I was that easy to fool?”

“You care about her so much, you like her so much-why didn’t you just break up with me? Why did you have to play both sides? You cheated first, the baby’s already five months along, so what’s wrong with me running from our wedding? What gives you the right to

question me?”

Every word hit hard and clear, silencing everyone present.

Ethan never imagined that everything he’d been hiding for so long, I’d already known about.

Guilt, panic, shame, and regret all crashed over him at once. He lunged at the car window, babbling incoherently:

“No, that’s not-Lily, let me explain. I didn’t know she was pregnant. We found out during the company health check. Grandma knew before I did, and she wanted to keep the baby, so I…”

Even now, he was still trying to blame everyone else. I was completely done with him.

“Right! It’s everyone else’s fault! The three hundred million for those paper stars at the auction, that kiss in the hallway, that ice-cold

drink you handed me-none of that had anything to do with you, right?”

Ethan couldn’t say another word.

He stood there stunned, his eyes empty and lifeless.

Seeing her grandson in this state, Mrs. Blackwood felt heartbroken and stepped forward to defend him.

“Lily Carter, you know damn well how Ethan’s treated you all these years!

He wanted to marry you two years ago, but you kept rejecting him for your dancing career!

When he was ready to propose, you abandoned him and went abroad. He got drunk and ended up with Sophie having his baby-how

is that his fault?

He’s been feeling guilty this whole time, won’t even acknowledge his own flesh and blood because he was afraid you’d break up with

him!

He’s been devoted to you, and you repay him by running away at the altar, humiliating our entire family. Don’t you have any shame?”

Hearing her aggressive tone, Marcus’s expression turned ice cold.

“Lily was only 21 two years ago. She was chasing her dreams and didn’t want to get married that young-what’s wrong with that?

The Carter family has plenty of status in the city too. Marrying into your family wouldn’t exactly be marrying up, so what’s the big deal about turning down a few proposals?

Ethan couldn’t keep it in his pants-how is that Lily’s fault?

Did she pour those drinks down your precious grandson’s throat? He knocked someone up and still proposed to Lily-isn’t that fraud? A wedding built on lies and deception? Good thing she ran. What are you gonna do about it?”

That speech turned Mrs. Blackwood’s face completely dark with rage.

She pointed her finger at his nose, sputtering “You, you, you” for a long moment, but couldn’t come up with a single comeback.

Marcus let out a cold laugh, glanced dismissively at the grandmother-grandson pair, rolled up the window, and hit the gas.
