Nathan let out a relieved smile. “Trinny, since you’re fine now, get some rest. I’ll be heading out.”
Hearing that Nathan was leaving, Trinity immediately grabbed his hand, her face pale, and her eyes brimming
with tears.
“Nate, before I went into surgery, you said you’d promise me something. Does that still count?”
Nathan nodded, his tone firm. “It does. No matter how long it takes, it still counts.”
At that, Trinity spoke softly, her voice dripping with sweetness, “Nate, I like you. I want to be with you.”
The sudden confession caught Nathan off guard. He fell silent for a moment before replying steadily, “Trinny, I promised Tegan I would marry her. I can’t betray her.”
Trinity’s voice trembled. “So, you won’t betray her, but you’re willing to betray me? Have you already forgotten what you did to me that night?”
Something inside me snapped. A wave of nausea surged up my throat, and I dry–heaved uncontrollably.
It turned out that even ghosts could still feel rage. Even in death, one could still be hurt by a cheating bastard and a shameless woman.
Nathan had spent the night with Trinity and then crawled into bed with me like nothing had happened.
If I had still been alive, I would have scrubbed my skin raw to erase every trace of him.
Before I could recover from the disgust, Trinity continued, her voice choking with tears, “Nate, I never wanted to compete with Tegan, but you can’t control feelings. I love you. I don’t regret being with you. Can’t you give me a chance?”
