Plot Twist 23

Plot Twist 23

Most of Cassandra’s classmates knew she had married into money, so Javier’s first assumption was that she was on vacation

Cassandra smiled and said, No, I’m here for a job interview.”

Did your husband agree to that?Javier asked

She replied, This is my decision. He has no say in it.”

He gave a helpless chuckle. Had a fight, did you

Not at all. What about you, Professor Myers? Are you here on vacation?”

Javier shrugged. As if I could afford a place like this. There’s an academic summit happening soon in Stokelle, and this is where the guests are staying. I’m representing the college to help host them.”

Cassandra nodded. I see.”

Alright then. Time’s running, and I can’t keep them waiting. I’ll head up first.”

Sure,she said

After saying goodbye to Javier, Cassandra’s name was called not long after, and she headed in for the interview

She had done her research online. The role of hotel manager required multilingual skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and most importantly, a professional appearance

Cassandra was striking by nature, with delicate features, a graceful figure, and flawless fair, skin. Everything about her fit the image of a classic beauty. She carried herself with grace and spoke with ease

As for languages, her fluency extended far beyond the basics. Westran was her strongest, spoken at an advanced level, but she had also self studied several other regional tongues during college. Altogether, it made her a wellrounded candidate

She breezed through the first three rounds, cutting through 90% of the competition. In the end, only three candidates were left

One was a man who had earned a doctorate from Westbridge University. His academic record was so impressive that he made it to the final stage

The other was a young woman like Cassandra, and she seemed to have gotten insider tipsas well. She showed up in a tiny camisole and a mini skirt, looking absolutely hot

Cassandra overheard her speaking Westran. Her accent was heavy, and her words stumbled out with little fluency, so she didn’t see her as a threat

She refused to believe that the owner of Westwood Hotel would be so blinded by lust that he would overlook a highachieving graduate or he, the wellrounded candidate, just to hire an emptyheaded pretty face

A woman dressed like a secretary stepped out with a smile. The final decision has been made. Ms. Wesker has been hired. We’re sorry, Ms. Blake and Mr. Caldwell. You both are very

impressive. We hope you find positions that suit you.”

James Caldwell immediately protested. What exactly are your hiring standards? Do you overlook degrees and skills, and base it all on how short someone’s skirt is?”

The secretary, Lilian Spark, responded with a polite smile, Apologies, Mr. Caldwell. Our boss personally reviewed the interview footage before making the final call. He has his own considerations. I’m simply here to deliver the message.”

James snapped, With a boss like that, Westwood Hotel’s going down sooner or later!”

He stormed off once he finished speaking

Meanwhile, Janice Wesker was all smiles. She turned to Cassandra with a cheerful grin and said, Oops, sorry!”

Then, she stuck out her tongue in a playful tease

Cassandra stood and turned to Lilian. Excuse me. May I ask why I wasn’t selected? I’d appreciate any

feedback so that I can improve.”

Lilian remembered Cassandra clearly. She possessed both intelligence and beauty, and everyone on the hiring panel had thought she’d be the final choice. But the boss had made the call, and their opinions no longer mattered

Lilian said, Ms. Blake, perhaps our boss had some other considerations. I’m truly sorry.”

Just then, Cassandra’s phone buzzed

It was a message from Cameron. Cassandra, are you messing with me?”
