“I’m in Daisy’s hotel room right now,” Cameron said. “I want to see you in half an hour.
Otherwise, I won’t mind ruining your dear friend’s life. I’ll make sure she vanishes from the entertainment industry forever.”
Cassandra yelled, “Cameron!”
“Cassie, I’ll be waiting for you.”
With that, he ended the call.
She immediately called back, but all she got was a message saying the phone was powered off.
Cassandra was furious and cursed into the phone “Bastard!”
She spun around and bolted out the door.
Stokelle was a big city. In that half hour, she kept urging the driver the whole way and finally arrived at Westwood Hotel just in time.
The moment she pressed the doorbell, the door was yanked open from inside. She was pulled into a familiar embrace.
Feeling the texture of his shirt against her skin, she recognized it to be the shirt she had picked out for him. The familiar cologne was also the one she had bought for him.
Cameron held her tightly with half longing and half rage. He ground his teeth as he growled, ” Getting brave now, huh? Running away right under my nose?”
Cassandra fought back with all her strength, kicking and hitting his arms. “Where’s Daisy? I want to see Daisy–mhm!”
Cameron crashed his lips on hers, fierce and desperate–just like when they first got together. Back then, he was so eager it felt like he wanted to swallow her whole.
This was the first time she felt him using all his force, and she realized, for the first time, that her strength was nothing in comparison to his. She was rendered useless.
Gradually, his breathing grew heavier.
He finally pulled apart slightly. When he saw her eyes foggy and dazed from the lack of air, the fire in his eyes only burned hotter.
He hoisted her up over his shoulder and carried her toward the main bedroom.
The bodyguards all lowered their heads and rubbed their noses, not daring to look.
Only Sally whispered, “Cassandra…”
Cassandra’s mind seemed to have gone blank. Her whole body was light, almost like she was
floating. It felt like she had fallen onto clouds. However, the blanket that covered her felt like a heavy block of iron, pressing her so hard she couldn’t breathe.
When she finally caught her breath, she realized half her clothes were already gone, and Cameron was feverishly unhooking her bra with red eyes.
Seeing that she had come back to her senses, Cameron immediately pounced again, holding her face and kissing her wildly.
She had given up resisting. Suddenly, he tasted something salty at the edge of her lips.
It was tears. She was crying.
Her tears finally resurfaced a shred of rationality within him. He stopped and used the back of his hand to wipe her wet cheeks. “Cassie, I missed you. I missed you so much that it drove me crazy. Just the thought of how you might run away and leave me forever terrifies me.”
Cassandra turned her face away and closed her eyes.
Cameron let out a disappointed sigh before pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. “Do you know, when I saw you laughing and talking with that old man, it felt like a thousand knives were stabbing my heart.”
“You felt that pain because deep down, you still believe there’s something between us.‘
“Cassie, we finally got to see each other again. Can we not talk about this? I don’t want to hear any other man’s name from your mouth,” he said.
Cassandra pushed him away and sat up, adjusting her bra that had been pulled completely out of shape.
He hugged her from behind, kissing her hair. “Let’s just pretend none of that ever happened. Come back with me. We can love each other like we used to. Let’s just live happily, okay?”
She fixed her bra, picked up her shirt from the floor, and started putting it on. “Cameron, we both know that we can’t
