Grace snapped sharply, “Are you out of your mind? Don’t you know her pregnancy is unstable? How long are you planning to keep bullying Anna for that shameless tramp?”
Annabelle gave Grace an apologetic glance, then turned to Cameron with a pleading look.” Cam, can you give me one last chance for the baby’s sake, please?”
Cameron went quiet for a moment, his eyes falling on her still–flat stomach.
She wasn’t even a month pregnant, so nothing was showing yet. But her face and lips were pale. She looked sickly and worn out.
He forced down his disgust in his chest and nodded. “Let’s talk back in the room.”
Inside the hospital room, Cameron walked in first and stopped by the window.
Annabelle followed behind, quietly closing the door.
Cameron said, “It’s just the two of us now. What did you want to say?”
Annabelle clenched her teeth, then opened her hand to show him something small and white.
Cameron frowned. “What’s that?”
“I looked it up online. Since I’m still early in the pregnancy, I can just take an abortion pill. No
surgery needed.”
Cameron’s face tensed slightly. “Where did you get it?”
“I secretly bought it online. Mrs. Dorsey doesn’t know.”
He straightened up, face guarded. “What kind of trick are you trying to pull this time?”
Annabelle gave a bitter smile. “Am I really that awful in your eyes?
“I’ve thought about it,” she went on. “I tried. I really did. But no matter what I did, I couldn’t win you back. I’ve accepted that now. You love Ms. Blake–I’ve seen it with my own eyes. And I don’t want the baby to come between you. So, I’ll end the pregnancy and step aside.”
Cameron’s expression shifted ever so slightly. “Annabelle, I really can’t live without Cassie.”
“I know,” she said with another tired smile. “Even though you’ve been by my side for the past few days, I could tell. Your heart and eyes have only ever been on her. I’ve come to terms with it. Instead of all three of us suffering, I’d rather be the only one who hurts. At least you two can be happy.”
Cameron walked over and gently helped her sit by the bed. “Sit down. Let’s talk.
Annabelle continued, “Cam… no, I shouldn’t call you that anymore. Mr. Dorsey, find a way to get Mrs. Dorsey out of the room this afternoon. I’ll take the pill and end this whole thing.”

Cameron nodded. “Alright. Let’s do that.”
As he stepped out of the hospital room, he felt like his heart was soaring.
It was so light and free.
It was finally going to be over.
He took out his phone and booked a flight to Stokelle for that night.
But the excitement was too much to keep in. He needed to tell someone.
And Ryan was the best person to share it with.
Since they had just talked, calling again felt like too much. He didn’t want to interrupt Ryan’s
date.
So, Cameron sent a voice message on WhatsApp.
“Ryan, Annabelle’s ending the pregnancy this afternoon. I’m flying to Stokelle tonight to find Cassie. Tell her that I’ll take whatever punishment she wishes to give me.”
But that didn’t feel like enough.
Next, he messaged Harold.
“Book me a room at Westwood Hotel for tonight. And buy a few boxes of condoms.”
Even typing that, his face flushed a little.
He missed Cassandra so much.
Even if he had to get down on his knees tonight, he’d do whatever it took to earn her forgiveness.
And if that didn’t work, he’d throw her on the bed and keep going until she begged for mercy.
Absence made the heart grow fonder, and just thinking about what might happen tonight made his blood run hot.
Harold replied quickly, “Yes, Mr. Dorsey. I’ll get it arranged.”
Cameron thought about it, then got bolder.
“Forget the condoms. Get me something sexier. Toys or lingerie–whatever.”
If he could get Cassandra pregnant tonight, that would be the perfect way to explain things to his parents.
His heart was already racing at that thought, and he wished to rush to the airport.
