Pretend 3

Pretend 3

Before marrying Jake, I knew he had an identical twin brother, Ethan.

But I’d never met him.

It wasn’t until our one-year anniversary that Ethan returned from abroad.

Seeing Ethan for the first time, I was genuinely stunned.

The Wilson brothers shared virtually the same face, even their heights were nearly identical.

That day, when Jake announced Ethan would be moving into our mansion permanently.

I instinctively felt something wasn’t right.

I pulled Jake aside and whispered: “Is that… really okay?”

He was loosening his tie and looked at me with a smile.

‘What’s wrong with it? He’s my brother, he’s not going to eat you.”

‘That’s not what I meant,” I quickly explained. “It’s just… you look too similar. I’m afraid I might mix you up.”

Jake reached out and tapped my forehead, his tone full of certainty.

‘Don’t worry, baby. My brother is cold as ice toward women.”

‘Even if you stood naked in front of him, he wouldn’t give you a second glance.”

I followed his gaze to the living room sofa.

Ethan sat there alone, surrounded by an aura that screamed ‘keep away.’

So I believed him.

On our anniversary night, Jake and I had some red wine.

Slightly tipsy, he held me as we fell onto the bedroom’s large bed, his burning kisses falling everywhere.

Just as we were entangled in each other’s breath, about to become one.

Chapter 1

A loud “bang” suddenly came from the living room downstairs.

Then, the entire mansion plunged into dead, dark silence.

A power outage.

Jake stopped, rolled off me, and said quietly: “What a mood killer. I’ll go check.”

In the darkness, I heard him open the door and his footsteps going downstairs.

Time seemed to stretch on forever.

About ten minutes later, or perhaps longer, I finally heard the door opening again and footsteps returning.

He was back.

asked what happened, and he vaguely said “circuit breaker tripped, it’s fine.”

Without any light, I couldn’t see his face clearly.

But the body that pressed against me again was completely different from the tender, flirtatious one before.

This time, he was like an out-of-control beast.

No kisses, no caresses, just the most primitive thrusting.

He seemed inexperienced, his movements clumsy and forceful, only knowing how to possess with all hi:

night.

was pounded so hard I felt like I was breaking apart. The pain was unbearable, and I could only cry as clung to his shoulders, calling his name over and over:

Jake… Jake, be gentler… it hurts…”

But each time I called out, the man on top of me became even rougher.

t wasn’t like making love-it was more like venting, like punishment.

When I woke up the next day, the space beside me was already cold.

My body was covered in purple bruises and bite marks, especially between my legs-I could barely walk.

Supporting myself against the wall, I inched my way downstairs step by step.

Jake and Ethan were already at the dining table having breakfast.

Jake saw how I was walking and laughed:

“Babe, who did you fight with last night? You can barely walk!”

My face burned with humiliation as I glared at him.

Chapter 1

How could he not know why I was like this?

And he had the nerve to joke about such an intimate matter in front of his brother.

Filled with shame and anger, I instinctively glanced at Ethan across the table.

He just gave me a brief look, his eyes unfathomable, before lowering his gaze again and continuing to meth odically cut the fried egg on his plate, as if he hadn’t heard anything.

Now I understand.

That night, the person who came back from the darkness wasn’t Jake at all.

It was Ethan!

I finally realized why Jake’s bedroom style would often change after that night.

Sometimes, he liked to turn on all the lights in the bedroom, watching me lose control and surrender.

He would smile cruelly, asking again and again: “Baby, who am I? Say my name.”

Other times, he would turn off all the lights and silently take what he wanted in the darkness.

Whenever I called out “Jake,” he would go crazy, using more brutal force to silence all my sounds.

thought it was just married couples’ play.

Now I know that my supposed husband was actually two different people.

One was my husband in name, Jake.

The other was his brother, Ethan.
