On the day of the wedding, Willow suddenly called me just before I was about to leave the house. Her voice sounded dark and unhinged.
“You bitch, this is all your fault!”
Before I could even ask what was going on, she hung up. Dumbstruck, I got into the wedding car. But when we arrived at the venue, my heart sank.
It wasn’t the place Davin and I had picked for our wedding.
The driver opened the door and forcibly dragged me out of the car.
Tanner was standing there holding a bouquet of white roses. He took my hand from the driver and looked at me with a deep, loving gaze.
“Kathy, finally, I get to marry you.”
I frowned and yanked my hand away.
“Tanner, are you insane? I’m getting married to Davin today. Take me back right now!”
Instantly, Tanner’s expression twisted into something monstrous. He grabbed my hand again, this time with more force, and pulled me tightly into his arms, dragging me toward
the ceremony hall.
The doors swung open, and my eyes widened.
Inside, Willow was kneeling on the floor. She was tied up, and her body was covered in cuts
and bruises.
When she saw us, she screamed hysterically, “Katherine, you old bitch! Let me go! It’s all your fault! Why don’t you just die? If it weren’t for you, I would’ve married Tanner long ago! Even after leaving, you just had to seduce him again!”
Enraged by her shouting, Tanner strode over and slapped her hard across the face.

“Shut up! Apologize to Kathy now!”

Willow’s face was streaked with tears as she looked up at him with a pitiful expression, her
voice trembling.
“Tanner, I’m the one who loves you. She doesn’t even care about you! How could you do this to me when I love you this much? Have you forgotten how you proposed to me under
the fireworks?”
A flicker of panic crossed Tanner’s face. He glanced at me, then his expression turned gloomy as he leaned down and said coldly to Willow, “You don’t want those videos of you and the clients leaking online, do you? Apologize to Kathy. If she forgives you, I’ll delete
them.”
Willow trembled in fright. Seeing that Tanner wouldn’t budge, she started sobbing hopelessly and crawled over to my feet on her knees, bowing over and over again.
“Katherine, I’m sorry. It was all my fault. I shouldn’t have spiked your drink that day. Please… Please forgive me. I’m begging you.”
Tanner approached me with a smile and said, “Kathy, look. I’ve already fired her, made her kneel, and apologize to you. I’ve done everything you asked. So will you marry me now?”
Looking at the anticipation in his eyes, I frowned and answered, “No, I won’t.”
Tanner was about to explode, but I cut him off.
“Tanner, when I loved you, I could tolerate everything about you. But now, no matter what
you do, it’s meaningless because I don’t love you anymore. Everything you do just disgusts
me.”
I glanced at Willow on the floor and added, “Do you even realize what you’re doing? The
cops should be on their way right now. You might want to start thinking about what you’re going to say to them.”
“When did you call the cops?”

Tanner lunged forward to grab my arm, but I stepped out of reach. He forced a smile and
said, “Kathy, you misunderstood me. Willow came here willingly. I didn’t abduct her. I’m
not that kind of person–you have to believe me.”
I let out a cold laugh.
“I don’t care if this was staged or an actual abduction. I’m not interested. But that night, Willow spiked my drink, and you handed me that glass yourself. That’s a fact. I’ll tell the cops everything.
“As for whatever’s going on between the two of you, explain it to them yourselves.”
Upon hearing that I’d called the cops, Willow glared at me in fury. She pulled a knife out of nowhere and lunged at me without warning.
“Go to hell!”
The sound of the blade piercing flesh rang out. When I looked over, a splash of red filled my
vision.
Tanner’s eyes were red–rimmed, full of longing and love. “Kathy… I just wanted to make
things right. I just wanted to marry you…”
With that, he collapsed to the floor in pain and soon fell unconscious.
At the same time, the sound of police sirens rang out in the distance.
