Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Zac blinked, then realized it was actually pretty likely. Liz had pulled stunts like this before. But this time, he figured she probably wasn’t here to catch him cheating. She probably just needed a way to save face.
With that in mind, he smirked and pulled the woman next to him into his arms. “Ignore her,” he said.
Jeff gave him a thumbs-up, clearly impressed. “I’ve got to hand it to you. Most guys would panic if their fiancée showed up to catch them cheating, but you? You didn’t even flinch.”
Zac let out a low chuckle. “What’s there to freak out about? It’s not like this is the first time.”
“Good point. Haha!”
Jeff was already looking forward to the moment Liz caught sight of Zac with another woman.
Upstairs, Liz and Jane made their way to the second floor. Before they came, Liz had called her brother, Jack Stone, and asked him to reserve a booth. She specifically requested a quiet one, so he gave her the spot all the way in the back.
As soon as they reached the top of the stairs, Jane immediately spotted Zac and his group. The moment she saw him with a woman in his arms, she rolled her eyes.
She muttered, “Wow. Guess my brother’s just letting anyone in these days. Guys like Zac really bring the whole place down.”
Liz saw him too.
To be exact, the second she stepped onto the second floor, her eyes locked with Zac’s cold stare.
They looked at each other for just a second before he turned away, his face completely expressionless.
Liz glanced at the woman Zac was holding and couldn’t help feeling a wave of bitter irony. So much for how much he supposedly
cared about Xena.
She had really been foolish to waste eight years of her life on a man like him.
Now that she had finally let go, she could see him for who he really was. He was just another guy. It had been her feelings that made him seem special, not anything he actually was.
She looked away without a second thought and followed Jane toward the private booth.
Jeff watched them approach with an eager grin, clearly expecting drama. But as Liz passed their table, she didn’t even glance at
Zac. It was as if he wasn’t even there.
Jeff blinked, caught off guard. It wasn’t until the booth door closed behind them that he turned to Zac and said, “What was that? Is she doing some kind of reverse psychology thing?”
Knowing Liz, he had expected her to storm over, yank the woman out of Zac’s arms, and cause a scene. Even if she didn’t go that far, there was no way she would just walk by calmly, as if nothing had happened.
It almost felt like she really didn’t care anymore.
Zac’s face darkened. He shoved the woman in his arms aside and snapped, “Get out.”
The woman’s face went pale. She didn’t say a word as she hurried off.
The table went silent. Zac knocked back several drinks in quick succession, but the frustration boiling inside him refused to
settle.
Jeff and Rick exchanged glances, both looking confused.

Chapter 20
Wasn’t Zac done with Lie? Then why was she still getting under his skin so easily?
Jett raised an eyebrow and said, “Are you seriously this pissed just because she acted like she didn’t even see you?”
Zac shot him a cold look but didn’t answer. He downed another drink instead.
Jett shrugged “Honestly, I think she was just trying to get your attention Playing it cool so you’d chase her. If you’re actually upset, then you’re falling for it.”
He had known Zac for more than ten years and had been there from the very beginning of their relationship.
At first, he genuinely thought Liz was great. But once Zac’s business took off and he started seeing someone else on the side, Liz got emotional and unpredictable. That was when Jeff stopped feeling sorry for her.
