Over the next few days, Xena started posting more frequently about her relationship with Zac.
Zac didn’t stop her. In fact, his behavior subtly encouraged it.
Picking up on that signal, Xena grew increasingly bold. Her captions became more suggestive, and her photos showed off more and more-expensive jewelry, designer handbags, and other luxury gifts she claimed Zac had given her.
Thanks to her nonstop flaunting, their so-called romance started gaining major attention online.
Every night after work, Xena would eagerly check her phone, excited to scroll through the comments on her latest post.
Most of the replies were filled with envy and admiration. People called them couple goals and said her updates brightened their
day.
Xena loved the attention. She was hooked on the praise, the likes, and the sense of being adored.
But on Friday evening, when she opened her feed like usual and tapped into the comments, her smile suddenly froze.
The top comment read:
“Wow, what a world we live in. Mistresses can now publicly show off their affairs like it’s something to be proud of. She knew Zac Lincoln had a girlfriend and still jumped right in. She slept with him countless times, and now that she’s been ‘promoted’ to girlfriend, she wants us to believe this is some kind of pure, fairytale love? Please. You shouldn’t have been a mistress. You should’ve gone into entertainment and become an actress.”
Xena’s grip on her phone tightened. Her face turned pale.
After a moment of hesitation, she headed straight to Zac’s office, phone in hand.
Zac read the comment, his expression darkening. But he said nothing. He looked like he was thinking.
Xena bit her lip, her voice soft. “Mr. Lincoln… what should we do about this?”
The post was already spreading fast. If she deleted the comment, it would look like she was trying to cover something up. But if she left it alone, more people would see it and the backlash would only get worse.
She had never tried to hide her relationship with Zac, especially when she had been trying to push Liz out of the picture. A lot of people already knew what had gone on between them.
If this kept blowing up, her reputation would be completely destroyed.
Zac looked up at her and said calmly, “What do you think we should do?”
“I… I don’t know,” Xena stammered, her voice shaking. She was on the verge of tears. “Please, help me.”
“Go back to your office,” Zac replied coolly. “I’ll take care of it.”
That simple line felt like a promise. Xena quickly wiped her tears and nodded. “Okay.”
But the situation spiraled out of control faster than she expected.
In less than thirty minutes, hashtags accusing her of being a homewrecker and seducing Zac while he was still in a relationship shot to the top of the trending charts.
The comments under her latest post exploded. In just ten minutes, over ten thousand new replies poured in, all of them attacking her and Zac.
Voyager Tech’s PR department picked up on it right away. The PR manager rushed to Zac’s office.

“Mr. Lincoln, this is escalating fast. Netizens are obsessed with homewrecker drama, and this topic is blowing up. It’s already starting to hurt the company’s image.”
Zac’s face remained calm. “Noted. You can get back to work.”
Seeing that he had no intention of addressing the issue, the PR manager hesitated for a moment. “Should I have the trending post removed for now?”
“No. Wait for my instructions.”
“Understood.”
Not long after the PR manager left, several shareholders barged into Zac’s office. Their expressions were grim.
“Mr. Lincoln, Voyager Tech is set to file for IPO in just two months. And now this scandal breaks out? Don’t you think you owe us an explanation?”
