Chapter 12
Lily thought about Sophia’s name that haunted her thoughts and typed out a message.
[Sophia, ten days until Lucas and I get married. You’ll wish us for well, right?]
But once she send it, a red error message popped up immediately.
Lily’s lips twisted into a bitter smile, then she pulled up Sophia’s phone number.
She whispered maliciously, “Sophia, poor girl, you deleted my Ins because you can’t handle the fact?”
Then at least all her scheming had worked: she’d finally made Sophia give up on Lucas.
With this thought, she dialed Sophia’s number.
If Sophia didn’t want to see her posts, she’d call instead.
The phone rang three times, then going to an automated message saying the number was unreachable.
Three calls, same result.
Lily’s grip tightened on her phone, fury building: “Of course. You can block calls too.”
She was about to put the phone down when she suddenly realized Lucas had never acted this frantic before.
So she called his assistant: “Where did Lucas go?”
“Mr. Mitchell caught the first flight to Montana.”
Seeing the call was from Lily, the assistant didn’t hide anything.
After hanging up, Lily furiously hurled her phone to the floor.
Her chest heaved from the intensity of her anger.
“Lucas, after everything, I’ve done for you, you still can’t forget that bitch.”
Thinking about the way Lucas had just spoken to her, she felt like she was falling apart.
At past, she’d watched Lucas and Sophia’s entire relationship unfold.
Lily had been Sophia’s college roommate. They used to share a dorm room, lying in their beds while Sophia gushed about how wonderful Lucas was.
Over time, Lily also saw what made him different from other guys.

Chapter 12
He was gentle, gorgeous, and treated Sophia like precious cargo.
When they went out, he’d carry water, tampons, whatever she might need.
Sophia had asked him once: “Water’s fine, but tampons? Isn’t that weird for a guy?”
Lily remembered his exact words. Back then, his face had gone red, but his voice stayed firm:
“What if you get your period and don’t have any? Or we’re somewhere without store? Taking care of my girlfriend
isn’t weird–it’s what love looks like.”
That day, Lily asked her own boyfriend the same thing..
“Would you carry tampons for me?”
His response: “Why would I do that? That’s women’s business.”
In that moment, comparing her boyfriend to Lucas, Lily realized how blind she’d been.
Later, she broke up with him, but couldn’t take her eyes off Lucas after that.
When Lucas and Sophia finally split, Lily saw her chance.
She stayed by his side, quietly making sure he and Sophia never crossed paths again.
But no matter what she did, Lucas still loved Sophia.
Meanwhile, Lucas and Nathan tracked down Sophia’s travel route and raced to the Montana airport, then drove straight to the train station to wait for her.
They waited for hours, watching wave after wave of passengers exit without any sign of Sophia.
As the crowds thinned out, the two men found themselves standing together.
For the first time, these former rivals spoke calmly in the cold wind.
“Let’s find her together!”
