Susan was expelled from the university. Because she tried to pull me off the roof with her, she was charged
with attempted murder.
The day I left for my exchange program, my classmates came to see me off. That’s when I found out she had
been sentenced to six years in prison.
“She brought it on herself. I never thought she could be so jealous.”
I just smiled and shook my head, not saying anything. She wasn’t worth wasting my breath on.
After saying goodbye to everyone, I got on the bus to the airport. I watched the scenery fly by outside the
window.
I opened the window and let the wind blow against my face.
Friends are important, but for the most part, we walk our own paths in life. Some people thrive in a crowd; others are meant to grow their roots in solitude.
As important as friends are, they are not as important as making yourself strong.
Don’t force others. Change in life begins with yourself.
