Chapter 7 – Everything
MARCIA’S PERSPECTIVE

“No,” Kael’s mother was the first to cry out. “No, Your Highness. This… this just isn’t possible.”
I smiled.
“Do you question the king’s commands?” Dravic asked coldly.
“No—what I mean is, there must have been some
misunderstanding. The—the King has been manipulated by this witch!” she spat, glaring daggers at me. “There is no way the King of Dawnvele would decree something like this without intervention. Without—without any misunderstandings.”
I glanced at Dravic, my eyebrows furrowing slightly. She wasn’t entirely wrong. The King wasn’t so kind. Did Dravic make him do this?
“Yes, Your Highness,” Janet nodded in agreement. “Everything else is still fine, but the pre–marital property? How can she reclaim all of it? That now belongs to the Silverlake pack.”
“I see,” Dravic announced, finally stepping inside the pack house to stand beside me. I stared up at him, observing how much I had to tilt my head back just to glance at him. “The Luna of Silverlake believes the King of Dawnvele to be an idiot.”

She gasped, eyes wide in fear. “No, Your Highness! I couldn’t even imagine saying such a thing.”
“You didn’t say it, but you meant it. Why else would you suspect a heartbroken girl like Lady Marcia managed to manipulate the king? He must be an idiot if that’s the case.”
I lowered my gaze, cheeks hurting from suppressing my grin too much.
“That’s….. that’s not what I meant,” she grumbled, eyes downcast.
I glanced at Kael, who looked pale, eyes stuck on me. I then looked at Eunice, who was seething, but didn’t dare to utter a
word.
I gazed up at Dravic again, gratitude filling me.
“Your Highness,” the Alpha spoke now, “forgive my mate for her words. All she meant, was that the King hasn’t yet heard our side of the story. He is making this decision without–”
“So you’re accusing the King of bias? Of injustice?” Dravic snapped, his eyes going black.
The Alpha shut up instantly, taking a step back as though Dravic
had burned him.
“Is there anyone else who wishes to object to the king’s decree?” Dravic’s voice boomed through the pack house, almost shaking

the walls. He looked around, hand settling onto the sword at his
belt.
My mouth parted in surprise at his action.
He was openly threatening anyone to go against him. To challenge him if they dared.
But of course, no one did.
Deafening silence ensued, although the tension in the air was palpable.
Dravic waited a moment, then turned to me, eyes returning to their vibrant shade of green.
“Lady Marcia, have the guards assist you in packing everything that belongs to you. You shall leave with me.”
I held his gaze, my heart giving an odd, unexpected flutter in my
chest.
Then I tore my eyes from him, looking away.
He was only doing this because of my brothers. Because of his guilt.
Nothing else.
“Thank you,” I said softly, before walking away with Clara on my

heel. I felt his gaze on my back until I disappeared upstairs, turning a corner.
“Lady Marcia, Luna Regent of Moonshadow,” Clara cried, curtsying, as soon as we were back in my bedroom.
I laughed, taking her by the shoulders. “Please, Clara.”

She grinned at me, tears swimming in my eyes. “I will miss you so much, my lady.”
I raised a brow. “Why?”
She sniffled, wiping her nose. “You have been the kindest to me, Lady Marcia. How can I not?”
I smiled at her. “Do you really think I’d leave you here after what you did for me? They would make your life miserable. I cannot leave you here to suffer at their hands, Clara.” I cupped her cheek.
She stared at me incredulously. “You’re… you’re serious?” she whispered.
“Yes.” I promised. “Go pack your things and mine. Ask the guards outside to help. We don’t have much time, we cannot make the Duke wait.”
She grinned from ear to ear, nodding. “Duke Dravic is the kindest,” she gushed, “I will pack at once.”

Just as she hurried out of the room, someone else entered—someone I refused to even look at anymore. He approached me, expression contorted into one of pain.
“Marcia,” he whispered, taking my arm.

“Hands off,” I snapped, yanking mine away from him. “Don’t you dare touch me.”
“Alright, alright,” he sighed, raising his hands in surrender. “Don’t do this.”
“Don’t do what?”
“You cannot demand a rejection, Marcia,” he muttered. “How can you leave? Did you ever love me? For even a moment?”
I scoffed. “You’re the one asking that? Need I remind you of your concubine downstairs?”
Kael’s jaw ticked. “What about yours?” he spat bitterly.
I narrowed my eyes. “Mine?”
“Yes. Your advocate, your prince.”
My eyebrow cocked up. “Really Kael?” I chuckled. “Am I sensing jealousy? Because that wouldn’t sense after our official divorce.”

“You’re still my mate, I haven’t rejected you yet,” he muttered.
“Not for long.”
Clara returned with the guards, and Kael stepped back, jaw clenched.
“Get out of my room, would you?” I said curtly. “I’d like some privacy to pack.”
Kael’s gaze lingered on me for a moment, but he left without another word.
“My lady, you alright? Did he do anything?” Clara asked.
“I’m fine,” I reassured. “There is nothing he can do now.”
Emptying the Silverlake Estate, my heart thumped in my chest with exhilaration.
It was a feeling like no other—to reclaim everything that was rightfully mine.
From gold, jewellery and antiques, to even furniture and rugs, I refused to leave behind a single thing that I had paid for. The pack’s faces hung low, some silently burning with contempt like Eunice’s, others red with shame.

Dravic’s guards mounted everything into carriages and horses, until the Silverlake packhouse was almost stripped bare.
I stood in the grand hall and looked around—it wasn’t so grand
anymore.
“Are you all done, Lady Marcia?” Dravic asked, stepping beside
- me.
“Yes. Just the rejection is left,” I replied.
“Of course.” He turned to Kael, who looked like he would rather be burned alive than to give in. “Kael Lightwood. It’s time.”
He stepped forward reluctantly, refusing to meet my gaze.
“We don’t have all day,” Dravic snapped, making Kael flinch.
He finally looked up, staring at me with immense pain—as if he’d ever cared about me, even for a second. “Under the light of the moon,” he began in a soft whisper, voice barely audible, “Luna Regent of Moonshadow—Lady Marcia Xendale—I reject you as my mate.” He gasped, placing a hand over his chest, whilst I felt nothing. Taking a deep breath, he continued, “I free you of our bond and union, our marriage, and everything else we shared… for all time.”
With that, he fell to his knees, tears rolling down his cheeks, body shaking uncontrollably. I glanced at Eunice, who gazed at him and then rolled her eyes. Kael let out a loud, pained howl,

the sound sending a shiver through me. Then he quieted down, fists on the floor.
“You’ll regret leaving me,” he said hoarsely. “Mark my words.”
My chest felt light, as if a heavy, exhausting burden had been lifted off of it.
I turned to Dravic with a smile. “Let’s go. I have everything I need now.”
