Chapter 16

The child was born not long ago, and his face hadn’t fully developed yet. Nobody knew who he looked like.

Kiana had been looking forward to her grandson for so long, so naturally she was overjoyed and thought everything about the child was perfect.

Last time, a relative was being nosy and said that this child didn’t look like a child of the Eldred family. Kiana immediately got angry and cut off all ties with them.

Kiana was still chattering away, but Tristian didn’t hear anything.

Just stared blankly at the divorce certificate in hand.

His twelve-year friendship with Emerson and five-year love came to a complete end.

But he was not willing at all in his heart.

He loved Emerson so much, how could he easily let go.

With this in mind, he perfunctorily walked away from Kiana.

Halfway through, Kiana suddenly remembered something.

He came back to remind her, “If you have time, go and take a look at the child’s mother, after all, she has given birth to a

son.”

Seeing him nod, Kiana finally closed the door.

He immediately took out his phone and dialed Emerson’s number.

He realized that he had been turned off.

This was within his expectations, so after hanging up the phone, he dialed another number again.

“Help me check Emerson’s whereabouts.”

The person on the other end of the phone did not immediately agree, but hesitated and said, “Mr. Eldred, this may not be

able to be found…”

Tristian frowned, “What does that mean?”

The person over there swallowed their saliva.

“I heard that the Harford family had blocked the news and prohibited anyone from inquiring about Emerson’s whereabouts. So…”

“That’s enough! I don’t care what method you use, just find it for me, or else you can leave!”

The phone abruptly stopped, and he angrily threw it on the ground!

Suddenly, I remembered something and picked up my phone, walking towards the door.

In a ward of the obstetrics and gynecology department.

A grim-faced woman fiercely slammed the surrounding objects, screaming incessantly.

“Get lost!”

“Everyone, get out of here!”

The nurse next to her also did not tolerate her and directly scolded her.

“The person who should leave is you.”

“I have been living in this hospital for so long, and I have always been owing the hospital fees without paying!”

“How come I have never seen such shameless person like you before!”

“Ah -!”

Another scream, Lindsey threw the cup at the nurse.

“Get lost!”

“Crazy person!” the nurse muttered as she pushed the door open and almost bumped into the tall man standing outside.

“Mr. Eldred.”

The man nodded and walked around her, closing the door.

The room was in a mess, and the woman on the bed was breathing heavily, making her whole countenance even more

repulsive.

When she saw Tristian, she didn’t even bother to pretend.

“What did you come here for?”

“Get lost!”

Tristian ignored her and slowly approached, suddenly lifting her face with his hand.

He clicked his tongue and said, “So ugly!”

Lindsey swung past, but he was quickly caught by him and pushed back with force.

The whole person hit the wall hard.

“It seems like the previous lesson didn’t provide enough, huh?”

Remembering the deep cut on her face, her entire expression became filled with fear.

“What, what do you want to do?”

Tristian approached her and patted her face.

“Don’t be afraid.”

The next second, she was forcefully dragged to the ground by him, and like dragging a mop, he dragged her out of the

ward.

All the way, she screamed incessantly, and the freshly healed knife scar on her face oozed blood as it rubbed against the

floor.

No one could come to redeem her.

Just at that moment, Kiana, holding her grandson, suddenly came towards us.

Seeing this scene, she immediately let out a scream.

The bodyguard standing nearby quickly rescued Lindsey and then slapped him hard across the face.

“Are you crazy?”

“She was the mother of your child!”

Tristian’s head was tilted to one side after being hit, and he used his tongue to push against his left cheek that had been

struck.

Only then did he look at his mother in front of him.

“What kind of mother was she?”

“Mom, don’t forget, we had agreed back then that as long as we had the child, it would be enough.”

“As for how people handle it, you don’t have to worry about it.”

Looking at Lindsey, who was being sent back to the ward, I glanced at my grandson in my arms.

A trace of reluctance flashed through Kiana’s mind. “Let’s consider it as accumulating merits for the child, and then send

her away when she gets better.”

Tristian seemed to have thought of something, a hint of ruthlessness flashed in his eyes, and finally returned to calm.

“Okay.”

In the following months, Lindsey lived a prosperous life.

Because Kiana had greeted the hospital, the people at the hospital treated her with extra respect.

Plus, without the threat of Tristian, she felt even more at ease in her heart.

On the day of discharge, the whole person visibly became more plump.

Although she didn’t get custody of the child, Kiana gave her a large check.

It was also enough for her to spend the rest of her life.

Lindsey was getting ready to leave by taxi.
