Chapter 3

Sarah covered her mouth and coughed twice, then smiled gently and said, “What a coincidence, Ms. Duncan. Are you also here to choose a dress?”

Without waiting for Katherine to speak, Andrew’s face turned cold as he said, “Does she remember that she is Mrs. Thompson? She doesn’t understand etiquette, so she should go back to school and retake the course!”

Upon hearing this, Sarah’s face turned pale and she tearfully said, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Thompson. I didn’t mean to

upset you. I will leave right away.”

Katherine acted as if she were air, entering the store to pick out a dress, hearing Sarah’s coughing behind her

growing more intense.

While Andrew, who was accompanying her, lowered his head to play with his phone, sending messages to

someone unknown, he coldly said, “Can I not go to the party tonight? You never used to take me to these

business events before.”

“No.” Andrew closed his phone. “The Entrepreneur Summit tonight is very important, you have to go.”

“Davon, bring over the best dresses from your store.”

Wherever Katherine’s eyes landed on a dress, Andrew would have someone buy it, and in an instant, he had

cleared out half of the store’s inventory.

The shop assistants were envious and jealous, and there was a lot of discussion.

Mr. Thompson really doted on Katherine, not minding that she was four years older than him and unable to

conceive. Their sibling-like love was truly sweet!

When Mr. Thompson was sent to a mental hospital by his family, Katherine stayed by his side without

wavering. He was so affectionate and loyal, of course, he would treat her well. This was the treatment that

Katherine deserved!

Katherine lowered her gaze, concealing the coldness in her eyes, and spoke in a cold tone, “Andrew, I have

something to take care of, so I’ll leave first.”

Seeing her furrowed brows, Andrew thought she was dissatisfied with the dress and said, “Davon, bring a few

more dresses over.”

She looked at the 9th dress hung up by the assistant and her eyes lit up. She saw Sarah sitting on the sofa

by the floor-to-ceiling window, also looking at the dress, her eyes full of admiration.

“Katherine, the 9th looks great, you should go and try it,” Andrew said.

Katherine changed her clothes and pulled open the fitting room curtain.

I saw Andrew sitting on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding Sarah and feeding her medicine.

The woman wrapped her arms around his neck and coquettishly said, “Andrew, I really liked the dress number

  1. Can you buy it for me?”

“No.” Andrew’s tone was unquestionable.

Sarah, with tears streaming down her face, kissed the man’s lips.

Katherine averted her gaze, took off the clothes, and placed them on the cashier’s counter, saying, “Davon, I’ll take this one and check out with the other dresses I just tried on.”

Davon glanced at his phone, looking apologetic. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Thompson, but this garment has some flaws and cannot be sold to you.”

“The clothes have flaws, and you still brought them out for Katherine to try?” Andrew pushed the door open and looked at Davon with a frown. “You have three days to fix the dress and present it to Katherine for her

approval.”

Davon repeatedly apologized, saying he would deliver on time.

The two of them left the formal wear store, and Andrew said he had to go to the company for a meeting.

Katherine drove to run errands when suddenly she saw a familiar black Maybach in the congested traffic.

Sarah, sitting in the back seat of the car, was wearing a luxurious dress and was tying Andrew’s tie.

Noticing her gaze, the woman proudly kissed the man’s right cheek.

In an instant, Sarah was embraced by Andrew, and the car window rolled up.

Katherine opened her phone and dialed a number. “Chairman Thompson, please make sure to keep my new

identity information confidential and don’t let Andrew find any trace of it.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t give him a chance to find you,” Andrew’s father said. “I wish you a safe journey in

advance.”

She closed her eyes and let the tears slide down her cheeks.

Soon, she could completely leave him and pursue her dreams!
