Chapter 7
Katherine was about to speak when Sarah cried, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Thompson. It was all my fault tonight, but my child is innocent, sob.”
She covered her stomach and cried and rolled on the ground, her cries becoming more and more desperate. “Someone please come and take me to the hospital, it seems like I’m bleeding down there!”
Andrew’s expression changed dramatically as he glared at Katherine. He bent down and forcefully picked up
Sarah, shouting, “Billy, go drive, quickly!”
His actions sparked a heated discussion among the onlookers,
“Mr. Thompson suddenly became so nervous about Sarah’s child. Could it be that this child was… Back in the
day, they were such a perfect match but it was quite regrettable that they separated.”
It was not so easy for Mr. Thompson to let go of his deep love for Sarah. He married Katherine only out of
gratitude. This woman, after becoming a wealthy lady for a few days, forgot that she came from a humble
background as a bar girl. How could she be so ruthless?
A bar girl, how high can you expect her quality to be? Maybe the incident of Sarah betraying Mr. Thompson back then was intentionally framed by her, just to break up this couple of lovers. What a cunning woman!
Katherine stood still and forced a bitter smile as she lowered her head.
Just because she came from a humble background, everyone naturally poured all the dirty water on her, with
various forms of contempt and slander.
While Andrew, out of gratitude, married her, he actually looked down on her humble background and felt
embarrassed to be seen with her.
After all, only someone like Sarah, who came from a noble background as the children of officials, was
worthy of being with a wealthy and prestigious young man like him.
Not like her, a bar girl who couldn’t make it to the upper class.
She tightly kept the secret of his infertility, shouldering the blame herself. What could she gain from it?
Andrew never even glanced at her.
Not to mention loving her.
She felt disheartened and drove back home.
Just then, Mrs. Thompson was stopped by Andrew’s secretary, who said, “Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Thompson
wants you to go to the hospital.”
She followed the secretary to the special care ward and saw Andrew sitting by the bed, blowing medicine in a bowl and feeding it to Sarah. His brothers were surrounding him, all talking at once and showing concern for
Sarah.
Seeing her, Andrew put down the bowl of medicine, his face darkened. “Katherine, come here and apologize.
to Sarah!”
Katherine’s stomach was hurting so much that she couldn’t stand up straight. She looked at him with a sad expression and said, “I said I didn’t hit her or kick her in the stomach, do you believe me?”
Seeing her covered in sweat, Andrew couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
In an instant, Andrew waved his hand and knocked the medicine bowl out of his hand, his face turning pale. “With solid evidence like a mountain, are you still trying to argue?”
“The doctor said if Sarah’s child had arrived ten minutes later, it would have been too late, you know?”
“I never thought you could be so cruel, deliberately trying to kill an unborn child. You are intentionally pushing Sarah to her death, huh?”
Katherine’s face turned disappointed.
We knew each other for eight years, but he believed himself to be such a malicious person and had no trust
in her.
What else could she say?
It was a self-inflicted humiliation to speak about it.
“Mr. Thompson, I believe your wife didn’t mean to do it on purpose, please let her go back.” Sarah coughed a few times and tearfully said, “It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have been so attached to the place where I grew up
and hindered her.”
“When I was discharged this time, I would go abroad for childbirth, giving your wife some peace and quiet!”
“You haven’t done anything wrong, why are you leaving?” Andrew helped her cover the blanket and said with a cold face, “Katherine, why don’t you come over? Do you want my people to escort you?”
As soon as the words fell, Katherine was grabbed by a bodyguard by her hair and forcefully pushed and
shoved in front of Sarah’s bed.
Sarah’s eyes were filled with satisfaction as she pretended to show concern and said, “Billy, you shouldn’t be so rough with Ms. Duncan. After all, she was a distinguished Mrs. Thompson.”
“Hmph, does an infertile old woman like Katherine deserve to be called Mrs. Thompson?” Andrew’s friend
approached, raising his hand and delivering a slap to Katherine. “You dare to bully Sarah, you bitch. Today, I
will make you taste the bitterness as well!”
Katherine’s ears were ringing after being slapped by the man, and it took several seconds for her hearing to
return to normal.
She struggled to hold back her tears and bowed deeply to Sarah, saying, “I’m sorry, Sarah. I was wrong.”
Looking up again, Katherine’s cold eyes filled with sadness dissipated, and the chill solidified into ice. “Mr. Thompson, I have apologized and endured the beating, are you satisfied?”
“Can I leave now?”
