Chapter 12
The next day was the anniversary of Katherine’s father’s passing.
Andrew deliberately shaved off his beard and took a bath, then put on a suit that Katherine likes.
“Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Thompson were obsessed with appearances. When they see your face later, they will probably calm down a lot.”
“Mr. Thompson, I have booked the Presidential Suite at Light Palace Hotel for you. The fireworks show will
start at 8 o’clock tonight.”
Andrew nodded approvingly, “Billy, contact the globally renowned infertility specialist Professor Holman and have him come to Westview immediately for a consultation with me and Katherine, in order to expedite the process of successful in vitro fertilization.”
He had originally promised Katherine to adopt a child, fulfilling her long-standing desire to become a mother.
But now, he wanted to give it his all and have a baby that belonged to both of them.
I believe Katherine knew about this, she must have been very happy!
Andrew braved the rain and arrived at the cemetery to wait. He waited from morning until it got dark, but no
one came.
He kept raising his hand to check the time, repeatedly convincing himself that Katherine might be late due to slippery roads and traffic caused by the rainy weather.
Until the cemetery closed, Katherine did not come.
Andrew looked at the dim sky with disappointment and finally realized that Katherine had really left him.
It will never come back again!
He had no intention of going to the company, nor did he want to return to the cold and lifeless home.
Because Katherine was not waiting for him at home, it felt cold and empty, like a hotel.
He went to the bar to drown his sorrows, and his friends took turns trying to persuade him.
“Andrew, weren’t you planning to wait for Sarah to have the baby before divorcing Katherine? Now that she’s gone, it has actually saved you a lot of trouble. You should be happy, shouldn’t you?”
“Andrew, after two years of being missing, the family can declare death to the court. Then, you can openly
reunite with Sarah and the children, how wonderful it would be!”
“Andrew, you loved Sarah and didn’t love Katherine, why be so down just because she left? She’s gone, that’s
it, it’s a perfect opportunity for Sarah!”
“Clang
Andrew slammed down his glass heavily, his voice displeased. “Who said I was going to divorce Katherine?”
“I never thought about doing it like this!”
The crowd was dumbfounded, and they looked at each other in astonishment.
Someone said, “Andrew, why did you go to such lengths to deceive Katherine with a fake marriage certificate and give Mrs. Thompson’s position to Sarah? What is going on here?”
“Andrew, do you mean to say that you wanted Sarah to have the baby, but you couldn’t publicly acknowledge your relationship? That would be so unfair to her!”
“Katherine, who is four years older than you and unable to bear children, has already been given enough
respect by making her Mrs. Thompson for three years. There is no need to sacrifice yourself for a lifetime
just to repay her kindness, right?”
The crowd’s constant mention of an old woman grated on Andrew’s ears.
He waved his hand
and forcefully shouted, “I never thought about divorcing her, do you all understand?”
“Whoever spoke ill of her, I will never forgive!”
The private room was silent, and after a while, a voice came from the corner, “Andrew, have you really seen
your own heart clearly? Who do you truly love, Sarah or Katherine?”
“I certainly loved Sarah,” Andrew said firmly, “but I would never abandon Katherine and let her be bullied!”
“Please help me find someone quickly!”
