I chuckled coldly. “You’re right. I didn’t have to pretend at all. But here’s something you should know. I earned every single penny from the contract!
“For the past three years, I have made countless sacrifices and contributed in no small amount to the company. The shareholders saw it, and my conscience is clear.
“I have created far more value for Layton Group than what the company has given me!
“As for you…” I shot Camille a disdainful look. “I felt physically ill every time I had to look at you!

“Despite that, I fulfilled my duty and didn’t owe anyone anything. Lastly, from this point on, I’m no longer an employee at Layton Group. You don’t have the right to stop me either.” Camille was infuriated. Her delicate face reddened as she roared at me. “Muttface, h–how dare you talk this way to me?”

As I braced for the stinging pain in my cheek, however, it never came. A blue figure swiftly stood in front of me and caught Camille’s hand in midair.
