Chapter 74
I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of red wine.
My gaze drifted to Desmond. At this point, he’d cozied up to Ms. Freshface.
About an hour later, the two of them went upstairs hand in hand. I waited another ten minutes or so before receiving the pictures.
Smiling, I transferred her the remaining 100 dollars and left the bar.
I called Quinn and instructed, “Quinn, set up a meeting with Cullen tomorrow. It’ll just be the
two of us.”
Quinn paused and was visibly puzzled. “What? Are you keeping secrets from me now?”
I chuckled. “I’m going to hand him Desmond’s nude pictures. Do you want a peek?”
“What!” Quinn let out a yelp before she started giggling. “Max, I always thought you were stiff and uptight, but I guess…”
“Guess what?” I asked, smiling.
ז”י
guess you’re actually adorable, and I’m starting to get a little too interested in you. Out of curiosity, when can I take yours?” She was so fearless that she could say anything without
hesitation.
“The only problem is, you might not have the strength to hold your phone by the time you get
the chance.”
She stuttered, “W–What are you talking about? Oh my gosh. Would you like to test that now?”
I laughed. “Alright. Let’s save that for another time. Thanks for the help with tomorrow.”
After hanging up, I returned to the hotel, beaming in satisfaction.
Quinn sent me an address the next day at noon. I drove to a stylish, upscale restaurant and
entered a private room.
Moments later, Cullen walked in, clearly surprised to see me. “Oh? You’re… Ma…‘

“Max Wexler. Please have a seat, Mr. Zenn.”
Cullen sat, sighing. “I’m sorry, Mr. Wexler, but there’s nothing I can do about tl. project.”
I smiled and poured him a cup of coffee. “No need to rush, Mr. Zenn. Hear me out before you decide.”
Cullen said nothing and nodded. I could tell that he was curious to see what I had up my sleeve.

I pulled out the pictures and handed them to him without delay. The moment he saw them, his eyes went wide. “This…”
“Consider this a gift and a token of my capabilities, Mr. Zenn. I may not be someone with massive influence, but I think you need a guy like me, don’t you think?”
Cullen stared at me in shock. “A guy like you? What kind of guy is that?”
“A bad guy,” I said.
Those three words made his eyes gleam brighter
I continued, “You’re the eldest son, Cullen. I won’t believe it if you tell me that you’ve never had thoughts about inheriting the family business. Sure, Desmond’s capable. But that doesn’t guarantee the position of the head of the family.
“I can help you with a lot. Clean or dirty, I can assist you in everything, especially in things you can’t personally step in to handle.”
I made myself clear and was sure Cullen could understand.
Having seen too many brothers fiercely compete for family power, I can say those brutal contests were almost like ancient princes battling for a throne.
That was the harsh reality.
Cullen gave a long, thoughtful look before taking the pictures and holding out his hand. ” Quinn did surprise me this time, Mr. Wexler. It’s a pleasure to work with you.”
He didn’t say much, but the ambition flashing in his eyes reassured me.
“Actually, I know quite a bit about you, too,” he added.
“In just three years, you turned Layton Group into a corporation worth billions. That alone proves your skills.
“What truly shocked me was that you were the widely–known lapdog of the Layton family and Ms. Layton for three full years. If it were for me, I could never have endured it.”
I was genuinely surprised as I hadn’t expected him to look into me.
Cullen remarked, “Don’t be so shocked. Quinn made it clear that you had a gift that might get me exactly what I want. Otherwise, why would I have agreed to meet you?”
