that.”
Sure enough, Cullen did have a solution. What he suggested boosted my excitement.
The Fawke family was the largest shareholder of Centrise Group. If he could get them on my side, the Zenns wouldn’t be able to stop me. And in that case, the Centrise Group project would definitely be ours.
Over the next few days, Cullen brought me to various parties and gatherings. Through those events, I had the opportunity to meet a member of the Fawke family.

“Max, where have you been all my life, man? We should’ve met sooner!” Noah Fawke pulled me over to drink with him.
“Hey Noah! Now that you’re acting so close and calling him Max left and right, you’re not going to refuse if he ever needs a favor, are you?” Cullen smiled as he brought up the topic now that the timing was right.
“Of course not. Whatever you need, just say the word.”
I hesitated and glanced at Cullen, who had a solid tacit understanding with me by now.
“Max recently started a logistics company in Brinestone. He was hoping to get in on a logistics
instead. project with Centrise Group, but Desmond handed it to the Laytons
“Alas… I mean… I can’t be of much help.” Cullen sighed in mild frustration.
Noah laughed. “Is that it? I thought it was something serious. Don’t worry, Max. I’ll take care of it!” He gave a confident pat on his chest.

Noah was clearly someone who valued loyalty.
Two more days passed before Quinn and I returned to Brinestone.
Back at the office, Sophia looked at me with concern written all over her face. “All settled?”
She’d called me a few times over the past few days and knew I’d gone to Govendale to fix the situation.
“It’s done. Just wait. You’ll see what I mean.”
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief and didn’t ask for details. Instead, she said, “You must be tired. Shall I take you out for a massage tonight? You need to relax.”
She sat behind me and gently massaged my shoulders.
“I’m not that fragile. I don’t wear out that easily. But our orders were canceled, and the company paused operations. Did your mom say anything?”
Sophia’s expression shifted slightly at my question, but she smiled it off. “She didn’t say anything. You don’t have to worry about me. I’ll handle my side. The company is what matters
now.
“The Layton family is holding their signing ceremony the day after tomorrow, and they didn’t send us an invitation card.”
To hear that Camille didn’t invite us surprised me a little. I thought that she would use the event to show off her success and rub it in my face.
“Even if they didn’t invite us, we definitely have to show up. Otherwise, what fun would it be?”
