Instead of responding, I just looked at Camille and Desmond as if they were idiots.
Camille said, “Max, I’ll give you another chance since you’ve served my family like a mutt for three years.
“After discussing things with Mr. Zenn, we’ve decided to set up a transport warehouse. Maxophia Logistics is a fitting choice for our plans. Name your price, and we’ll buy your company.”
She then raised her head proudly as she looked at Sophia and me in disdain.
“You want me to name my price?” I asked.
“That’s right. Are you deaf or something?”
I couldn’t be bothered to argue with her, so I smiled and said, “Fine. I’ll name my price then. No matter how much I ask, you’ll be willing to pay that amount. Am I right?”
Scoffing, Camille replied, “You’re such an embarrassment to the Layton family with how you lit up at the mention of money. However, you’re lucky that Mr. Zenn is willing to help you. Name your price. The Laytons and Mr. Zenn can afford it.”
Not wanting to waste any more time with them, I raised both of my hands, showing ten fingers.
“Ten million? Although it’s a little on the high–end, it’s still acceptable,” Camille said nonchalantly, already reaching for her checkbook
“I’m not asking for ten million dollars,” I quickly said.
“What? Don’t tell me you want a hundred million?” Camille frowned, her expression
darkening.
“I don’t want a hundred million either. I want ten billion dollars!” I exclaimed and smiled. With that, not only had Camille and Desmond frozen, but even Sophia seemed shocked by my
words.
However, Sophia quickly came to her senses and began chuckling. “I’ll accept the ten billion.

“Actually, you don’t need to give us ten billion dollars. In fact, we’ll give you a 20% discount, and you’ll only need to give us eight billion dollars. After all, it’s not easy to meet such a generous fool.”
I quickly chimed in, “Hey, Sophia, how can you say that? These two are our gold eese. They’re super rich! How can you insult them like that?
“To show you both my gratitude, I’ll give you another discount of one hundred million. The

Angered, Camille bellowed, “Max, have you gone fucking crazy or something? How can you even think of selling your stupid company for 79 billion dollars? Has greed overtaken your senses or something?”
I shrugged and said, “You’re the one who asked me to name a price.
“You even claimed that the Laytons and the Zerns would be able to afford it. What’s wrong? Are you unable to afford it? If you can’t, then why did you come all the way here just to lie to us?”
Camille’s face quickly turned red with anger, while Desmond growled, “You brat, are you messing with us?”
“That’s right. I’m messing with you two. Why? Do you have a problem with that?” I asked as I glanced at him. I matched his sneer with one of my own.
Desmond scoffed and roared, “You’re fucking asking for it! No one will be buying your company! I’ll make sure it goes bankrupt, and when the time comes, you had better not come and beg me for another chance!”
With that, he turned to leave.
Camille looked at me. She sneered before saying “Max, you dug this hole for yourself. Don’t blame me for what happens next.
“It’s a shame that you, Ms. Hartwell, have decided to put your trust in this muttface! I’ve already said it once, but other people’s mutts aren’t easy to tame!”
With that, Camille left. However, I did not take a single word she said to heart.
Although Sophia had played along earlier to piss them off, she still looked worried. She asked, “Max, are you sure you have a plan? That guy is one of the heirs to the Zenn family, and his family is a major shareholder of Centrise Group. He…”
She didn’t finish her sentence, but I understood what was left unsaid. “Don’t worry. The project is already ours. Just wait for the show tomorrow!”
Despite not understanding the meaning behind my words, she trusted me, so she nodded her head. “Let’s complete the proposal tonight! I’ll wait for you to shine tomorrow.”
With a small smile, I worked with Sophia to finish drafting all the proposals and relevant documents throughout the night.
The next night, the Laytons held a banquet at Brinestone Restaurant.
