While their attention was diverted, I reached out to the phone in my pocket with difficulty, wanting to call for help.
Just one movement exhausted me.
My phone slipped to the floor, and the sound attracted them.
A new message popped out.
“I just landed. I miss you so much. Shall we meet at the same place tonight? I’ve got a lot of things to say to you…”
Victoria stepped on my phone and glanced at the screen.
Then she said to Victor, “Victor, gee, who has Grace been texting? She’s cheating on you!”
Then she feigned surprise while glancing at my belly.
“My, my. Grace, is Victor really your baby’s father? Did you make him a cuckold just to secure your position as his wife? Who knows who the baby’s real father is? If some little idiot becomes the heir to the Kaufman family, that’s going to be a big joke.”
Victor strode toward me and gripped me by my neck. He was so furious that the veins on his forehead were bulging.
He said through gritted teeth, “I had no idea you were this scheming.”

The second my toes touched the floor, a sharp pain shot through my belly, and blood dripped down the inside of my leg and onto the floor.
Eline chuckled. “Keep walking. Since Victor isn’t your baby’s father, I might as well do you a favor by helping you have a termination.”
I slumped to the floor, panting in pain.
After I finally calmed down a bit, Victor kicked my calf and forced me to walk.
I could taste blood in my mouth, and through my seed blurred vision, all I could see was their evil, cold faces and their stares.
I sneered, spat out a mouthful of blood, and threw caution to the wind.
Since Antonio Kaufman had already boarded a plane back to the country, no one could threaten his safety anymore.
I said, “The baby is part of the Kaufman family alright… But you’re not the father, Victor. Antonio is.”

Victor kicked me so hard that I fell to the floor, his expression utterly sullen.
“Do you think I’ll fall for that? Uncle Antonio rarely comes back to the country. How could you possibly get in touch with him?”
Eline chuckled and then shook her head. “She’s full of lies. She knows exactly that we can’t reach him, and that’s why she lies so confidently.”
Victoria said, “Uncle Antonio is discussing business with some gangs in Italy. Don’t get self–assured. Once he’s back, you’re doomed.
