se some trouble for his sisters. But he would fix that. The rich and powerful hated it when their mistresses
caused public scenes. He would make them pay.
I watched him, a cold fury rising within me. He was trying to use the mob mentality of the internet to destroy
Claire and Talia.
But against absolute power, his actions were nothing more than digging his own grave.
Isaac looked at me triumphantly. “So what if you have connections and education, Victor? You can’t compe- te with my influence. My investor is the Leo. I was made by Lionheart Media.”
‘Is that so?” a smooth voice asked from the doorway.
‘Then as of right now, Lionheart Media is terminating your contract.”
‘I’ve already had my PR team issue a clarification about your little slander campaign. If I’m not mistaken, what’s waiting for you is a nationwide blacklist.”
Leo strolled in, a dazzling smile on his face that didn’t reach his eyes.
The guests gasped. It was the Leo, the king of the screen, in the flesh. This disastrous party was suddenly worth it.
‘Dad,” Leo said, walking to me. “Sorry I’m late. A few paparazzi were tailing me. Claire’s assistant had to co- me and get me.”
Claire, who had stepped out for a moment, saw her assistant and her entire body tensed.
‘Ms. Claire! You’re here!” the assistant said, rushing over.
‘Is there something wrong, Ms. Claire? We just finalized the partnership, why the sudden termination?” a terrified Lara asked, watching the interaction. The assistant continued, “Ms. Claire, I already had someone deliver the items to your father, as you requested.”
Seeing the dynamic, even Lara, for all her arrogance, finally understood who she was dealing with.

Chapter 2
“You’re… you’re really… Claire?” she whispered, stumbling backward.
Serena watched her siblings’ worlds crumble. She looked around desperately, and then her eyes landed on a stooped figure making his way through the crowd. Her savior.
“Professor Evans! Over here!” she cried. She knew it. Talia was bluffing. Her research group was a state-spo nsored project. No matter how powerful Claire and Leo were, they couldn’t touch a government entity. She would be the one to save her family’s honor.
But the first thing Professor Evans did when he reached her was to strike her with his cane.
“Who are you calling your professor?” he wheezed.
He then turned to Talia, his cloudy eyes filled with panic. “Dr. Thorne! There must be a misunderstanding!”
“Please, give me another chance! This project… it’s my life’s work! You can’t transfer me now!”
Serena stared at her esteemed, respected mentor, now begging, fawning over a young woman her own age.
