Chapter 24
Aurora woke up to daylight.
The morning sunlight slanted softly through the window, casting a pale yellow brightness across the room.
“Aura, you’re awake!”
Isabella’s voice came from nearby.
Aurora was still a little dazed after waking. She looked at the worried faces of Isabella and Alexander beside her, and then
the pain in her body hit her. Everything came rushing back.
“…”
Aurora only said one word before stopping.
The pain in her body, the vivid red blood she saw before fainting-everything gave her a bad feeling.
“Aura…” Isabella gently helped her sit up and sadly told her, “The baby’s gone.”
Aurora opened her mouth to say something, but in the end, she just stared blankly and closed it again.
After about half a minute of silence, she lowered her head and quietly responded, “Mm.”
She seemed to show no reaction at all-no joy, no sorrow-just a calm acceptance.
Isabella and Alexander exchanged a glance.
Finally, Alexander came over and said to her, “Aurora, for now you should rest well and focus on recovering.”
“You were lucky not to break any bones when you fell down the stairs, but you still have soft tissue injuries. The mild
concussion from the impact hasn’t healed, and you suffered a miscarriage…”
His voice softened as if saying more harshly might make her disappear from this world.
He continued, “I’ll postpone that music show for you, and later…”
“I’m going to participate.” Before Alexander could finish, Aurora cut in firmly.
Her hands, hidden under the blanket, clenched tightly.
Her fingertips pierced into her palms, drawing blood.
It hurt a lot.
But the pain made everything feel more real.
Aurora sat against the headboard, her expression blank-no joy, no sorrow.
She looked up at Alexander and said, “I can do it.”
“But the first live broadcast is in just three days.” Alexander worried. “Your body…”

“I can do it.” Aurora repeated calmly, with no emotion in her voice.
But her fists under the blanket were already trembling from being clenched so tightly.
Alexander and Isabella exchanged a look.
Finally, Alexander relented. “Alright.”
Hearing that, Aurora slightly lowered her eyes and relaxed her fists.
“Thank you.” She whispered.
Alexander shook his head.
“For our win-win deal, there’s no need to thank me.”
He understood that with Aurora’s talent, as long as she performed normally, there wouldn’t be a problem.
Besides, the first live broadcast was only a debut performance; the elimination rounds would start in the second show.
Aurora participating wasn’t an issue.
He just felt sorry for her.
Aurora lifted her head and forced a small smile.
She was trying to tell them she was okay.
But everyone present knew she wasn’t.
She couldn’t hold on much longer.
“Alex, with how I am now, I probably can’t prepare my stage costumes or find a makeup artist myself. Could you help me?”
Alexander nodded. “That’s part of the company’s responsibility.”
“Could you start helping me now?” She asked again.
Alexander didn’t know how to answer.
Aurora then looked at Isabella.
“Isabella, I’m a bit hungry. Could you help me buy something to eat?”
Isabella opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say. She just looked at Aurora with sadness.
Aurora smiled and looked at both of them. “Is that okay?”
Her voice carried a trace of pleading.
They exchanged a glance, then understood and agreed.
They left the hospital room, closing the door behind them.

It was April, and she felt a chill.
She curled back under the blanket.
She was really cold-so cold that she covered her head with the blanket.
Her emotions broke through her control.
She clenched her fists until they bled, silently crying.
